ridgebee and dandeliondusk would b girlfriands i think. but not very healthy ones. this is just a clangen brainstorm ramble 👇

ridgebee has omen sight, and her mentor drakeflight, reserved in nature (also passed that trait onto her), encourages her to keep these omens largely to herself, as they are often catastrophic and he worries about causing mass panic in the midst of the epidemic. ridgebee agrees, but also wonders if her withholding the omens she got about said epidemic had actually worsened it instead of allowing dogclan to be better prepared for it. she has a lot of guilt, and thinks her omen sight is a curse. the only cat she trusted outside of sunrisestar and drakeflight was her girlfriend, brightmouth. but brightmouth succumbed to the plague, and ridgebee believes its a punishment from starclan for not sharing her gift with the clan.

dandeliondusk of snailclan is very blunt, methodical, and is not afraid to tell ridgebee when shes being stupid. the medicine cat confidentiality means that ridgebee, almost solely for her own sanity, has been dumping all of her pent up visions onto dandeliondusk, who mostly is just listening to see if she can use the info to better aid her clan. she thinks ridgebee's hysteria is annoying to deal with, but her pretending to care is leading to her.... kind of caring. which is, again, very annoying. she does admire that ridgebee doesnt roll over the way the houndclan medicine cats do, pawing for handouts every single moon from the other clans. she doesnt realize this is largely a side effect of ridgebee training herself to deal with important problems on her own. were it not for those mental barriers, ridgebee would be way more inclined to collaborate between clans.

19. If you could own any object from folklore what would it be? Oh MAN. there's so many cool possibilities...and yet right at this moment I find myself drawn to wanting that one cauldron that never runs out of delicious porridge!

20. If you met a talking animal would you prefer it to be an enchanted human, a disguised spirit, or simply a gifted animal? I'd prefer a gifted animal--I'd love to garner the wisdom of someone who has entirely different priorities to humans.

30. Describe a fic that almost happened, but then it didn’t.

Oh boy. So... so many. I don't tend to post fic before I'm finished writing it, just because I know how much I won't want to write it once I feel I "have to", but I'm also bad at finishing long WIPs so. A lot of fics just... don't happen. In recent times: the witcher reincarnation au, the tog soulmate au, the other tog soulmate au, the persuasion au, the long black sails role reversal au, the black sails amnesia fic, ... I can keep going 😅

33. Give your writing a compliment.

I feel like I manage to strike a good balance between dialogue / action and prose these days, which I am always happy with! And recently I've been very happy with my metaphors too, so.

Blinking, Luke cocks his head to the side. "What?"

"A boat," Boba repeats, motioning toward the beach. "So you can catch bigger fish."

Luke glances toward the rolling waves of the ocean and shudders at the thought of only having a small, fragile vessel between him and a watery grave. "I prefer my feet on dry land."

"Don't tell me the master Jedi is afraid of water," Boba snarks.

Sorry for the long snippet, but I love this dialogue-- really the whole scene, because it's one of the rare times I thought I actually caught any kind of Boba's actual characterization.
