Lemme say first i love Brigitte Lindholm. I fell in love when i first saw her in Reinhardt's short. Then i read the Dragons comic and loved her even more. Now she's been officially announced as a playable hero and i lost my shit squealing and bouncing in excitement.

But, people are complaining so much and it makes me sad. It also irritates me she's being shipped with d.va but i don't like her anyway. Anyway these are the top complaints i've seen so far.

1. She's white. I know, crazy, another white chick the horror. Honestly, i don't want to say just 'get over it' but at the same time there are several women of color. I know they're 'brown' and not 'black' (i'm a ghost so i don't have much input here) but there are several badass women of color already and i don't doubt that there will be at least 1 black (as in African (American)) woman eventually.

2. Her armor gives her an hourglass shape. We've seen her out of her armor, she has some natural curve there (as most women do). Even Rein's armor gives him an hourglass shape too and he's a brickhouse.

3. And no, she shouldn't be fat, or chubby, or have a potbelly. I know she has a shirt that says 'i like exercise cause i like eating' but some people seem to ignore that 'i like exercise' part. She's travelling around the world, fixing a (practically) giant's armor, making her own armor, and obviously working out. [God do i love her arms]

I can understand being critical of the game and pointing out its flaws (ages, timeline, etc) but don't hate on the new hero because she's not this sexuality, or has this body shape, or has this skin color, or whatever other reason. She's not a jumble of all these different characters, she's her own character. Just give the dev's time. I'm pretty sure they have more heroes in the works.

Also, when they add a black female human hero she apparently can't be a tank (cause that'd feed into some big, black, butch stereotype) and she can't be support cause there's already 'enough females lumped into being support' (which is ~obviously~ sexist and misogynstic). Some people just can't be pleased and will never be happy

hey I don’t want to spam everyone’s dash with The Discourse so I’m not responding to all the asks I’ve received, but for all ya’ll who sent me kind messages, thank you. I’m really not bothered by everyone’s comments and hate, I’m just really... confused, I guess? as to how people can genuinely tell me in complete honesty that none of the overwatch ladies look anything alike.

They use different animation for the game and the shorts if u watch the tracer shorts she looks very different in the game vs the shorts. Same with widow. Honestly people these days need to stop reaching to hate things and maybe look at what's positive or good about something

I didn’t even make that post, but here we go

blizzard, hell even just overwatch, rakes in millions of dollars, and you wanna tell me that they don’t have the time, money, or resources to stay even remotely on model? I’ve seen indie devs do better lol

yeah this isn’t condescending at all the only characters I can see in this are rein, torb, and genji, who do not look anything alike, and it’s really obvious in this pic?? the features in this don’t line up at all, which makes sense bc the male characters are like, actually diverse? I mean, just look at it my guy, the noses are all different, the eyes don’t match up, and the fucking mouths aren’t even in the same spot.

meanwhile, if you line up the women in overwatch:

[pictured is an overlay of Pharah, Mercy, Symmetra, Moira, Mei, D.va, and Widowmaker.] Making this I realized that, while I thought Moira had the most facial variation, Sombra is actually the only female hero that doesn’t perfectly line up to allll the other female characters. still, she doesn’t look that far off either....... 

My point with my earlier post is that Blizzard really does have a sameface problem when it comes to their women, and it needs to stop.
