Young Justice Headcanon

You know how the Team always prefers to use the mind link over their radios or normal talking? Well, after the years and years of speaking telepathically and using gestures and making faces, it’s pretty safe to assume that eventually they can communicate even without M'gann’s telepathy. Like, Kaldur, Dick, and Wally are sitting across from each other in the cave living room just making faces and weird hand movements every so often. And Black Canary comes in like “wat??” and Artemis just walks in like “oh yeah they’re just having a heated intellectual discussion over whether or not Julie Andrews could beat Batman in a fight and whether or not she'd need a lightsaber to do the job, duh” and Canary’s just standing there confused.

Things I want in Season 3 of Young Justice

Season 3 to exist

Cyborg to join the team.

Starfire with a decent design to join the team

Raven to join the team

In case you weren’t following, get the entire teen titans crew on board to wreck face.

Red Arrow and Arsenal confrontations, because seriously, after Arsenal came back, Red Arrow got to do literally nothing

Some more insight into the bat Family, because the Robin and Batman stuff was really good, and now there is a literal entire family of bat crime fighters

Robin/Nightwing/Batgirl/Batman wrecking face, we got one major instance of that in season 2, but I want more non-super powered combat

Remember Match? Yea, let’s get another battle with him.

I want Kid Flash to stay gone. As much as I loved him, if he came back the threat of death would be more or less meaningless. Bonus points if we get the same “we can totally save them” thing from the VR episode.

Obviously closure on the War World, UN Secretary General Luthor, and Darkseid, but that’s obvious stuff.

Having marathoned Young Justice over the last 48 hours, time to dump some thoughts down, in list form!

I still love Robin’s quips

It was a very whelming experience

After being actively aware that Young Justice has a fair bit of the same crew as Spectacular Spider Man, Black Spider’s spiderman-like quiping, and being voiced by Josh Keaton was considerably more amusing.

This being a re-watch, I really enjoyed the foreshadowing across the show, mainly the clip of Hello Megan! when Miss Martian was helping people recover their memories.

Aside from getting a 9 year old (or 3) into crime fighting, Batman’s actually a good father figure. “He needed to bring his parent’s killer to justice” “Why, so he’d become just like you?” “No, so he wouldn’t” Insert bat!father bat!son basketball bonding moment

On that similar note: after the VR fiasco, Robin’s “I don’t want to be The Batman anymore” line was fantastic Can you say .gif material?

Aside from just not being an Allen, was there really a reason for Kid Flash’s speed to be so far behind The Flash’s? Still kinda bitter about Wally

Artemis’s VA was kinda meh for most of the series, along with Miss Martian’s mental voice for the first bit of the series

I absolutely loved Beast Boy’s eyes turning green at the end of his episode, I went back to the beginning of the episode to re-check if his eyes weren’t originally green. They were infarct blue.

There was a fairly impressed amount of death in Young Justice, from Tula to Wally, and the flat out murdered “secret” girl to the like 50 armed guards that Red Arrow literally blew up in season 1

Also, they never really mentioned Jason Todd, aside from his hologram in the hall of fallen heroes.

Post-timeskip Superboy/superman bonding was really sweet. I liked the switch from Bad Father/son relationship to a really good Big/Little Brother relationship

Speaking of familial relationships, Miss Martian and Beast Boy’s brother/sister relationship was great.

Robin has totally taken secret selfies with every member of Young Justice and the Justice League. 

Speaking of that secret selfie, No idea if that was intended for use as foreshadowing, but it being brought back in season 2 was great, if kinda misleading.

I loved the Red-arrow/Arsenal plotline

I was kinda annoyed that Red Arrow just up and disappeared after finding Arsenal. It would’ve been really cool if Red Arrow got to smack some sense into Arsenal after he went rogue again. 

Cheshire, why the devil did you bring your daughter on a life or death mission in the Tibetan mountains? You were never getting a mother of the year award, but come on.

Season 3 when?

I would love to see Starfire in season three, that way she could kiss Dick to learn english and end up doing the messing-with-prefixes thing he always did when he was Robin. That would be the best thing in the world and I would die of happiness
