Did I read any books??? Hmm….OH. I read Stardust for the first time and really liked it.

35. What’s the most interesting experience you had in 2015?

You know what, all the skeleton porn from Undertale has really thrown me for a loop so probably that. I guess I didn’t expect people to find a way to give a skeleton monster a dick but they did and it was weird.

45. What do you expect from the new year?

Disappointment lol but that’s just cuz I’m not ending the year on a good note

A person has a right to decide who gets to use their body how and when. So even if a fetus is a person (note: giving a fetus legal personhood is a terrible idea that I oppose, but still), that doesn’t mean they have a right to your body without consent. You have the right to evict them, even if it results in their death. 

The same way you can’t be forced to give blood or donate organs, you can’t be forced to carry a pregnancy. Someone might die, you’re the only one who can save them, but you are not obligated to do so. 

Making the fetus a person doesn’t it give more rights to your body than anyone else, and nobody else has any rights to your body. Your body is yours to do any legal thing with you like, and a fetus has no right to stop you from using your own body how you see fit, even if that means swallowing an abortifacient.  

Claiming otherwise is a precedent for organ drafts and other worryingly dystopian end results. A functioning society has to value the right to bodily autonomy over the right to life or else personal liberty is fundamentally undermined on every front. If anyone can intimately take control of your body or deprive you of your health at any time as long as they can claim it saves lives, that is not freedom. 

You only owe your own life and body to yourself. Anyone else you give it to is a choice. 

That’s the really short version and I’m really done talking about this today.

What’s happening??

OH MAN. axel alonso gave an interview with CBR where he said that in the new hercules comic, hercules would be straight, as it was only an AU version of him that was bisexual. he also said that marvel's announcements for new books are going to stretch forward until announcements for new books next february, and the announcements will build towards a "crescendo" for black history month. so presumably they are holding off announcing any books with black creators until they are announcing books for... next... february. which, like. i want more black creators at marvel!! but like. really?? HIRE THEM FOR EVERY MONTH. HIRE THEM ALL THE TIME. it just seems so gross to do it like this? especially when almost all of the like, flagship relaunch ANADM titles are extremely male and white? like they're just using the black creators that they hire for a gesture, not actually caring about them as artists/writers/people.

ANYWAY, people on twitter were like "UH" about both of these things and then dan slott got annoyed and started tweeting at people about it and saying stuff like IT'S MUCH EASIER TO BE A CRITIC THAN TO BE A TOP EXECUTIVE. and then he tweeted something by hemingway about how it’s more difficult to be a gladiator fighting a lion than a spectator or something?? idk. it was embarrassing. and then axel alonso retweeted some dickhead who changed the page of all-new x-men where jean tells bobby that he's gay to make it be jean telling hercules that he's straight.

did i miss anything? does this make even a modicum of sense?? tl;dr: marvel were insensitive about issues to do with diverity, what else is new~*~*~

5: Favorite series and why?

Probably a tie between Harry Potter and A Series of Unfortunate Events. I grew up with both books and in a way it felt like the characters were growing with me so they were both a huge part of my childhood.

10: Do you listen to music when you read?

Only if it has no words. A lot of times I end up reading the song over and over in my head until I realize I’m still on the same paragraph I was an hour ago.

20: A character you like but you really, really shouldn’t

Severus Snape. He’s so incredibly vindictive and abusive but his story came off so tragically and it was a real blow when he died in the series. I think because he was such an in depth character and you really didn’t know if he was good or bad or what his motives were until the very end is what made him so interesting.

25: A book that you think about and you cringe because of how terrible it was.

Definitely the first half of Twilight I some how managed to get through. Or maybe Atonement. Yikes.

30: One book everyone should read.

To Kill a Mocking Bird by Harper Lee. Seriously, it’s a great read and it’s morals still stand true in today’s society. Besides it really helps open a young readers eyes to how thoughtless and cruel racism is and how standing up for things you believe in isn’t always the easiest thing to do.

35: What do you think of Ebooks?

Eh. I don’t really have an opinion.

40: Has there ever been a book you wish you could un-read?

Ugh god. The Fault in Our Stars. I get why everyone loves John Green but I just found the book so preachy and blown out of proportion. Yes, it was a HUGE leap forward from some of the other teen tragedies (Twilight) but it just comes off as pretentious and even without knowing at the time I knew one of them was gonna kick the bucket. No surprise for me there.

Maybe not so much un-read as get back the time I spent reading it.

Fight Club: What’s your favorite guilty pleasure movie?

Hmm…well–anything with Adam Sandler. Usually Happy Gilmore or Billy Madison. They’re terrible and stupid, I know, but they cheer me up lol

The Matrix: What’s the most important: soundtrack, costuming, or lighting?

Oh gosh…soundtrack. If the music doesn’t fit the movie then it just makes the whole thing awkward.

Star Wars: If you could have a sequel to any movie, what would you pick?

Oh god yes I could get lactose intolerance from all that cheese but I still like them lol there’s a lot of good ones

No, but I went with my mom and sister for hers. My parents made her quit though because she threw a tantrum during a class.

Making money. (Jk lol) Ummm…sometimes I think of him as an editor (since I wanna be a writer) and other times I view him as idk…a professor? I haven’t thought about it. I just imagine meeting my future spouse at a comic convention lol

I prefer band but not a cover band like an actual wedding singer type deal

98. What’s your favorite color?

Hmmm…I have a few actually lol I like soft colors (baby colors) and I really like dark rich blues, purples, reds, and greens. Also teal.
