Question for Europeans that watch American TV: What is it like for you when a character speaks Spanish and is from Mexico or South America? Does it make you think of Spain? Does it seem exotic? Idk sometimes I forget that the familiarity with Mexico, seeing as it is our southern neighbor, is not a universal experience lol. Idek if there's a similar relationship to compare it to on British television to make me wrap my head around it. Maybe France and Britain? Hmm

I, an American, now understand your pain in trying to watch American programming from overseas.

My dad and I just want to watch our favorite show, Escape to the Château, but alas, it airs in Britain, and only like once a week at like 2 am on our local channel here. Most episodes are available somewhere online. But every so often there's a gap and it drives us nuts.

I grew up on this channel with the British sitcoms. All the Sunday nights before Monday morning for school I stayed up to watch Are You Being Served. It feels like yesterday.

I still what AYBS along with Keeping Up Appearance, As Time Goes By, To The Manor Born, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries along with documentaries and the Ken Burns’ series.

It is a truth universally acknowledged  that, if you have only ever seen one or two British shows, you will recognize the actors from those shows in any other British shows/movies in existence that are even remotely in the same time period.
