Alemanha vence 1º revezamento misto da natação

A equipe da Alemanha faturou nesta terça-feira a primeira prova de revezamento misto da natação, na etapa de Dubai da Copa do Mundo. Com dois homens e duas mulheres, a equipe chegou na frente no 4x50 metros medley, com o tempo de 1min43s21, à frente da Hungria (1min45s31) e da Ucrânia (1min45s89).

O destaque da prova foi Britta Steffen, recordista mundial nos 50 metros livre. Última a cair na piscina pela equipe alemã, ela manteve a vantagem aberta pelos companheiros e garantiu a vitória. A Alemanha contou ainda com a nadadora Jenny Mensing e Marco Koch e Helge Folkert Meeuw, entre os homens.

Na primeira prova de alto nível para ambos os sexos, disputado durante a Copa do Mundo de natação em piscina curta, em Dubai, nos Emirados Árabes Unidos, a alemã Britta Steffen roubou a cena. No revezamento 4x50m estilo livre, a nadadora superou dois homens para garantir a vitória de sua equipe.

Day Seven: What the hell happened there?

- Becky Becky Becky. Considering the amount of pressure on her to win the 800 she did great to get the bronze (and beat Lotte Friis, sorry Denmark). Britta Steffen too! She's Germany's last hope of a medal in the pool. If you don't know Britta's history then have a look here, she's been through hell and back and would obviously love to defend her title. - Agonising 4th place for Lizzie 'essentially I swim backwards for a living' Simmonds in the 200 back. If you are following her on Twitter (@QueenMond) you will know how frustrated she was - 2.07.26 was her fastest time since 2010. Nothing she could do about the medals though, Franklin, Zueva and Beisel all made big improvements on their times. - 100 Fly: Phelps, Chad, you know the drill.
