If I may ask......out of the 20,000 trying to be raised. How much will be donated to Eliza's school?

We can't give you a precise number because it depends on what tiers people pick from here on out. They all have different production costs, but we've generally been assigning prices so that at least around 20% of the money goes to the school. That said, now that we've raised enough money to compensate our story director and artist, the main costs going forward will be printing and shipping, so a bigger percentage of all donations after $8,000 were reached will go to Koh Tao.

Printing costs will depend on how many physical copies are sold, because the more books are printed, the more the cost per book goes down. Shipping costs are also subject to many variables due to international shipping rates, with books shipped within Europe being cheaper to deliver. For digital orders, there is no printing or shipping cost, so most of the money from those goes to Koh Tao. All tiers are subject to taxes and gofundme fees. At the end of the campaign we will post breakdowns of the final numbers, but for now we are estimating that at least $6,000 will go to Koh Tao when we hit the 20k mark, with the potential for more.

Can the Gofundme do Paypal as a payment option. I hate putting my credit card info online like that?

Hey! We completely understand. Unfortunately Gofundme doesn’t allow Paypal as a payment option, but we can work around that. If someone doesn't want to donate directly through the GFM, they can email us to discuss alternative payment methods.

Once we receive the payment we will update the GFM via the "offline donation" feature which allows us to accurately show how much has been raised. People can choose to remain anon for this or show their name.
