This is not Bro Show canon but why not make an obvious joke?  I think I was mostly just missing Bone, he’s really hard for me to draw and I don’t have non-Bro Show story ideas for him, so I don’t draw much of him.  

This doodle comic is supposed to be set during a specific point in Bro and Bone’s Bro Show arcs though.  In Bro’s Big Picture Show (the title chosen for the hypothetical series finale explaining how Bro ran away to Mondo-a-GoGo), I wanted Act 2 to end with a swamp scene mirroring Edd and Eddy’s swamp fight, where all the tension in the Bro-Bone-Tammy dynamic boils to a head and she knocks Bro’s tooth out and strands Bone with the unconscious Bro.  This comic is set during Act 3, in a scene mirroring the Eds’ campfire scene except Bone has no closure from the swamp scene and is really resenting Bro.  It is meant to be set inside this broken old drive-in from the real BPS’s city concept art by Rod Filbrandt:

I have to ask because I only recently found out you were behind the bro show, did you ever have the idea of making a "bro" version of Edd and Ed? like Bro's friends who were his versions of Ed and Edd

Oh yes!  I got into this a little bit recently but it was under a read more with many other Bro Show thoughts so I’ll go into a little more detail… under another read more!

Because of Bro’s three speedos in ‘Pop Goes The Ed’, I felt like it was important that Teen Bro have some sort of trio to parallel the Eds.  Big Picture Show puts a lot of parallels on Eddy and Bro for the purpose of clarifying which traits are REALLY core to Eddy and therefore who Bro really is, so it also mattered to me that Bro’s relationships had to contrast with Eddy’s.  ‘Ed in a Halfshell’ implies that part of Eddy’s training involved finding a lackey to whip into doing his work for him (Eddy leads Jimmy to learn to smack Ed on the back of the head to make Ed move a boulder for him), so that became the center of Bone’s character.  

That episode also implies there was some sort of training focused on betraying goody-two-shoes whether or not they’re your friend (Eddy teaching Jimmy to egg the photo of Sarah; Jimmy learning to egg the lackeys instead), so I imagined the main difference from Eddy’s relationship with Edd was that Bro could not be close with his Edd counterpart the way Eddy clings to Edd in particular.  Edd is instrumental in Eddy being capable of outgrowing Bro at the end of BPS, whereas Bro in BPS is defined by his arrested development, unchanged since adolescence.  So basically it ended up being that there were multiple potential Edds who would all inevitably be pushed away from Bro.  In the pilot, it’s essentially Tammy Kanker, because she genuinely cares about Bro and believes he can grow with her help, and he of course leaves her in a terrible situation with nothing but lies for comfort.  In the grander scheme of Bro Show, the plan was that his main Edd-counterpart would be Bro’s seedy drug dealer, unwillingly nicknamed Dickie. In a way, at certain times, Eddy and his parents may have factored in as Edds trying to help Bro grow as well.

It was extremely difficult to design Dickie, which was why I left him out of the pilot.  Early attempts were just like… hairy Edd in a wifebeater…  But I eventually reached a much more creative design I was proud of and didn’t want to spoil… Thanks to @atomicmosaic for finding these development sketches for Dickie!  They’re from around 2012, when I first moved to Florida.  When I eventually did a color attempt at him, he had green hair. The main idea was that I felt fan characters, including my own, relied too much on the existing character shapes so I set out to find an arrangement of shapes that would feel like it has its own way of expressing and moving, not something borrowed from the show’s characters.

This is probably the most refined draft of his design we’ve dug up at the moment:

 As a character, Dickie was supposed to match Bro and Bone in terms of grunge and attitude and not being relationship material, but Dickie was also supposed to have the harshest life of three (he was going to be depicted as living under the overpass Jonny and Plank drive on in BPS), essentially homeless and disowned by his family, and as such, he was more confrontational about Bro’s unrealistic approach to life than Bone was.  Any time the three of them were together, it would start off seeming like a fun friendship but inevitably end with Bro and Dickie high or drunk and trying to beat each other up.  Dickie would eventually stop associating with Bro and only be friends with Bone, but then Dickie and Bone would father the other two Kanker sisters (“Rod” being her misremembering of Dickie’s resented nickname, and his design would be meant to fill in the parts of Marie that are not visible in Tammy, “Bubba” being her complete failure to remember Bone in any way, and also implying that “Butch” was either Bro’s name or yet another failure to catch her suitors’ names). Dickie would bail for the rest of the series at that point, while Bone tried to stay with Tammy, until Bro and Bone have to run away in the finale and Dickie would try to catch Bro for reward money or payback or something, and end up having his transporation hijacked by Bro, leaving him stranded in the cow pasture (where he eventually becomes the trigger happy farmer who left bullet holes in the cow pasture’s fence in BPS).

Basically the Bro Show finale was planned to burn Bro’s bridges to Dickie and Tammy, and in the final act, Bone would evolve from the Ed-counterpart into Bro’s final chance at an Edd-counterpart. Bone is the one who finally gets to have the honest heart-to-heart fight that mirrors Edd and Eddy’s swamp fight, but Bro is relentless and they only wear each other out without actually resolving anything.  When Bro gets them the unearned victory of jobs and new homes at Mondo a-Go Go, Bone would abandon Bro without a good bye, cracking Bro’s pride and cementing Bro’s failure to learn anything.  An additional element in the story would be Bro causing Edd’s move to Peach Creek, unintentionally setting Eddy up with the relationship that will eventually lead to Eddy’s success in BPS, and Bro’s ultimate punishment for betraying all these Edd-types.

Wasn't satisfied with the design for Ed's dad from yesterday.  I was trying to make him look more like his own character and less like Ed by accentuating the doughiness of the dad silhouettes in 'Too Smart For His Own Ed' but I think he came out too vague.

So I dug up some more Ed-like 2012 parent sketches from Bro Show development.  Anyone got a favorite?  I also included some sketches of Ed's parents when they were 12 (I don't know if Ed's dad should have the yellow skin but going off the idea that I colored him after Old Man Ed, I considered that a pre-depressed Ed-Dad would be lively and full of color) that I did to help me figure out the core differences between their designs and their kids' designs.

Also included my favorite mom sketch on the page, the point where I realized how much cheekbones and big teeth help her stand out from Sarah both in design in personality.
