Lou Reed
Lou Reed died today. I remember discovering The Velvet Underground when I was a teenager. I was young and didn’t know much, but I knew that Lou Reed was on to something.
While working on ‘Arcade’ I have come across a few Lou Reed connections. Lou was a pinball fanatic and for a period he was a regular at Broadway Arcade the famed NYC pinball mecca. According to an article in the New York TImes from 1985 he even had his wedding reception at Broadway Arcade.
In 1985, Lou released the album New Sensations. “Down at the Arcade,” was track 14. Lou Reed will be missed. And his spirit will live on forever in his music and those he inspired. RIP LOU.
