We must admit the Unplugging Ceremony for the Brock Environmental Center at Pleasure House Point this morning was more spectacular.
Our goal has always been to recreate a sustainable wild Lynnhaven
Last February we moved about 1000 wild #LynnhavenRiver oysters from a healthy reef to one we are rebuilding. Our hope is that these large, mature spawning oysters will repopulate the area. Progress report forthcoming. Average size of this broodstock was 5 inches long X 1.5 inches thick. #aquaculture #SaveOurShell #VaOysters #VAoystertrail @lrnow @chesapeakebayfoundation @visitvabeach @visitvirginia

Your slurping of Pleasure House Oysters at our beloved restaurants, with vital groups we are able to work with and on our Tours allows us to have the resources to continuously, and relentlessly work toward our goal of recreating what Mother Nature has historically provided us in our beloved Lynnhaven. At some point in the future we hope to be able to offer a sustainable wild Lynnhaven, until then, thank you for your support of Pleasure House Oysters and to all who work diligently every day to make the Lynnhaven healthier. We look forward to seeing many of you Friday evening supporting another part of the puzzle to help us all reach our dream of a clean & healthy Lynnhaven.
