“Prisoner Married in Jail Given Three-Year Term,” Toronto Globe. September 27, 1930. Page 14. ---- (Special Despatch to The Globe.) BROCKVILLE, Sept. 26. - For the theft of about $3,000 worth of jewelry and $400 worth of clothing in a series of local robberies in the summer months, Raymond Carr, this afternoon, was sentenced by Judge Reynolds to three years in the penitentiary, the sentence to date from Aug. 8 last when he was arrested. Since his arrest, Carr was married in jail to a young woman.

[AL: Carr was convict #1880 and worked in the mail bags at Kingston Penitentiary and claimed to have no complaints about the penitentiary, despite taking part in the 1932 riot. He was released in March 1933.]
