ALEXEY BRODOVITCH Brodovitch is well known for his approach to design for Bazaar magazine between 1934 - 1958. His contemporary approach to design separated him from other creators of his time and results in his work still being relevant today. The fluid shapes he uses for his text mirror the images on the facing pages of his designs, making his work visually aesthetic for the audience and additionally is what makes his work appear so iconic. Additionally, the use of negative space within Alexey Brodovitch’s design still influences designs today due to it’s contemporary, clean and crisp finish. Artists such as Matt Willey and Vince Frost also use this negative space to guide the audience’s eyes through the designs they create also - and thus may have taken inspiration from Brodovitch.
