“Aye, I can fix that.” He stated instantly as his gaze caught the chains. He carefully took the book and all from the librarian and moved towards what effectively appeared to be his working corner. “Take a seat and relax,” A eyesmile was thrown over again, “Or go about whatever. What broke the chains?” He was carefully stoking the small forge now, blips and strings of musical binary bringing it to life in preparation for mending and reforging the broken links.
Tools were brought to hand, deftly measuring the whole links for proper size. By the end of it he was hoping it’d look like they were never broken. “Also, did you want anything else done with the links besides them being repaired?”
Zalman nodded and gave Brel a grateful smile as he sat down nearby, absently adjusting his tunic. At the question about what broke the chain, Zalman wrinkled his nose in disgruntled embarrassment, then made the battle-cant signs for ork nob. He followed this up with a chopping motion, indicating the ork’s cleaver weapon, then gestured towards his now-unarmoured hip.
As Brel began working, Zalman watched with curious interest, tilting his head slightly at the musical binary. He considered the suggestion of doing something else with the links, then shrugged and shook his head before giving Brel another grateful smile. Apparently just getting the chain fixed was enough for him.
Tattoo commission for a coworker. Took me about an hour.
