These bitches need a fix it fic SOOO bad. (This is the streamer au or Colombe being alive, pick your poison bro..)
Eloi couldn't believe it, not at first. He couldn't believe she was here, still alive. Orange eyes burned through him and he wished to disappear from the spot. Did she remember? Did she know what he did? Sage looked between the two, her hands clasped together with a smile on her face.
But neither were smiling.
The man put a hand to his face as he looked away, covering the scar that took up residence from his jaw to his cheek. Colombe stepped forward, returning a friendly smile to the healer that managed to bring her back. But she wasn't thankful. Even after all these years, Eloi could read her, he knew better.
"Raphael."
"That isn't my name anymore." He quietly interrupted, looking back at her. Sage looked between the two, her eyebrows furrowing as she lowered her hands. "I have to go, I have a mission." Eloi turned, moving far too quickly to the door of the room. His heart raced in his ears, his crimes, every thing he ever regretted doing.
Oh how bitter it tasted.
"Eloi?" He ignored the way Sage called for him as he pulled the door open, slipping through and out the other side, it slammed behind him. "I thought this would make him happier.. after I heard what happened. Did I do something wrong?" Sage questioned herself quietly, posing the question to the muse beside her.
Eloi leaned against the wall outside of the room, trying to calm his heart, trying to catch his breath. How was she here and still in his head? Her taunting chants, her accusations, and now her in the flesh. Oh what would happen to him now? He needed to get out, needed to leave. He pushed himself off the wall.

Book #114 of 2026:
Broken Dove by Dani Francis (Silver Elite #2)
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the debut of this romantasy saga, which is sort of like Fourth Wing played out against the rebellion story from The Hunger Games, but this sequel offers too much wheel-spinning and predictable plotting for me to bother with it any further. The main couple is separated for most of this volume — first only physically and then also emotionally — and yet it’s obvious that that’s a temporary setback and that the heroine’s subsequent relationship exists primarily to fuel the drama of an eventual love triangle. We lose the fun undercover operations of the previous novel too; everyone here is seemingly keeping secrets out of spite or for the sake of the mystery alone, rather than in response to a deadly peril hanging over their heads.
I do like the early political intrigues in this entry, but this feels increasingly like a series without urgent stakes or a planned path forward, which is kind of ludicrous given the heavy themes that it bandies about. Theoretically there’s still a genocidal war being waged against people with psychic powers like our protagonist, but that somehow just isn’t translating to a particularly propulsive plot.
