- Excerpts From a Book I Never Wrote, Hades
Existence is chaos. // 4.47pm
It’s ok to take back control.
It’s ok to enjoy cleaning something by yourself.
It’s ok to recognise that you’re a tiny part of a huge and complex machine eating itself in an attempt to amass imaginary numbers in empty bank vaults.
It’s ok if you can’t fix that.
It’s ok to smoke weed in your kitchen and listen to lofi and pretend you’re in the scene from a peaceful anime and it’s ok for hating yourself for being that small in a world that needs big change.
It’s ok to work slowly forward.
It’s ok to hate being told it’s ok by people on the internet who sound just like you.
falling once more
But today, as I gazed at the autumn sky, I found us. It wasn't the outline of our hands In an absurdly shaped cloud. Or our brows In a flight of birds. But it was our love In the color changing sky.
Really
I’ve figured that I don’t want to be happy
If it ends like this
I think that I’m going
To fall off the deep end
And I haven’t even gone in the water
All this arguing is giving me a headache. Wish we could just sit in silence.

I am not dead. That much I know is true. Yes, I may feel dead inside. But, my heart is still beating, and my lungs are still breathing. I am alive, that much is certain. However, there is something missing. I have lost a part of myself that I know I won't ever get back. Not because I don't want it back, but because I can not even remember what it is that's lost. All I know is that there is a gaping hole inside me, and without it I am broken. Like a clock that is missing its hands. Or a bike missing handlebars. I try, but I can not function properly. Riding a bike with no handlebars can only take you so far before you lose your balance and fall over. That is the same with me. I can live normally for awhile like nothing is wrong. But then I lose control and fall. And I don't know how much longer I can keep on falling, keep on getting back up and dusting myself off. I don't know how much longer I can keep on pretending that I am whole. Because I'm not, and I probably never will be. So, maybe it's time I stop faking it and start accepting myself for who I am. I am broken, yes. But broken does not mean dead. I am alive, I am breathing, I am living, and that has to be enough. It just has to be. Because that is all I have, and all I am, and all I ever will be. Broken, but living. That is me, and that is okay.
