BIEL XPERIENCE
39 W Jackson Blvd.: Located right next to a Dunkin’ Donuts and close to the Blue Line Jackson station, this sidewalk has damage that goes on for a few feet. It could cause inattentive pedestrians to trip and fall, and there is also extensive damage on the curb next to it. This could cause someone trying to cross to fall and hurt themselves.
You can report hazardous sidewalks in Chicagoland area by calling or visiting 311.Chicago.gov for more details. If you have any pictures of dangerous sidewalks you can also tweet them to @redlineproject on Twitter.

140 S. Wells St.: This sidewalk has lengthy and relatively deep damage. It may cause people to trip and potentially get hurt, and could also get a stroller stuck. It could also become a small puddle in case of heavy rain, causing a passer-by to slip and fall.

South Winchester Avenue and West 51st Street: This part of the sidewalk is dangerous because it takes up a chunk of the sidewalk. It’s filled with little rocks that can be dangerous if someone were to trip and fall; the rocks could get in their skin and penetrate it. People in wheelchairs can also trip on this if they are not careful, or they may go off on the road to avoid it which in turn is an even greater risk. (Photo/ Cynthia Morales)
5043 S. Winchester Ave.: This sidewalk has cracked into numerous pieces that have sunk in angles leaving locals to walk very cautiously to make it past this section. Prior to taking this picture, a mother and her child lost their balance and tripped in this section. Luckily, they were not injured since they managed to put their arms out in front of them. The limited amount of space in this section would prevent someone in a wheelchair from safely passing this section due to the pile of garbage and branches. (Photo/Alex Ortega)
West Belmont Avenue and North Nagle Avenue: Walking down Belmont Avenue nearing the Islamic Community Center of Illinois, one might stumble over loose gravel and a tilted sewer drain. This uneven sidewalk may pose issues to individuals in wheelchairs and those pushing strollers, as the wheels may get caught in pieces of uneven concrete.
Stumbled upon a broken sidewalk near you? To prevent any injuries, report it to 311 and tweet a picture of it to us at @redlineproject. We will post it here and credit you. (Photo/Nicole Sroka)
