Top 10 of 2021

I haven’t done one of these for a few years, but here are my Top 10 albums (as well as my Top 10 EPs/Demos) of 2021. Even though 2021 was an up-and-down year, one of the major ups was what went down in music this year. Not only did this year see a lot of great new music be released as well as some great new bands/artists hit the scene, but it also saw the return of live music, and more specific to me and my situation, the return of live in-studio broadcasting, which were both definitely great to witness and to be a part of as well as two things that I am very grateful for. Shoutout to all of the bands, artists, labels, promoters, etc. who put out and sent me music, engaged with and helped me promote the show, and who were overall positive influences on me and the scene as a whole over the past year. Last but not least, thank you to all of you listeners out there for your continued support of Broken Sound after all of these years. In addition to continuing to broadcast the show live in studio next year, I’m hoping to be able to start hosting live bands again in the near future (pandemic pending), so keep your eyes peeled for that, but until then stay safe, Happy New Year, and I will catch you all in 2022 (in other words, next Monday night haha). Thanks again everybody.

Got to see this awesome audio/visual installation back in June (sat in the middle of all four screens for 20mins till it looped), and I love it even more in retrospect. Especially after just seeing his ‘Ouroborus’ install tonight at City Hall for ‘Nuit Blanche’; newfound respect.
