Dear Ruby,
I don't know where I should be starting this, or how I can explain anything that I'm feeling, but I need you to know that I love you. As hard as that may be for you to believe, I really do. In fact, I'm in love with you... but after everything that I did to you last night, I can't live with myself. I can't just continue living my life when I know that deep down, you'll never trust me again, and I doubt you even love me anymore.. I just need you to know that I'm doing this for your own good.
Keep up your strong attitude when I'm gone Ruby, I don't want anyone having the chance to hurt you.

Mason read the note in his hand three times before he placed it on the bed. He walked through to the bathroom, breaking open the cap of the sleeping pills. Taking a deep breath, he poured himself a glass of water, and swallowed the last 16 pills in the bottle. Sitting on the floor of the bathroom against the wall, he closed his eyes, allowing the pills to take over as he fell asleep.
