Chapter Two - The shared desire of red to protect - (Closed: Mirror!Luigi)
As he set off at a run through the city: those who had come into the Hive through the portals had clearly wasted no time in laying waste to and attacking those of the city: already, the bodies of countless lay in the streets, buildings had holes in them - it was like walking into the Shroob-infested Toad Town all over again. “Mama mia - I can understand the want-a they must have to exist, but this is intense.” Shaking his head crossly, Mario kept running: it was dangerous to stay in one place too long with things the way they were.
However, a soft, hurt cry for help cut his attention short: it was coming from an alleyway nearby? If there was someone in danger - he had to help them, of course! Actually...now that he thought about it, he felt...strong again. Like all the powers the scientists had taken had come back to him...well, that was sure handy! He’d probably need it at a time like this. Running onto the alley, it seemed that some of those...robots, or whatever those ‘drones’ were - had been here: leaving a stranger he didn’t know bleeding, and with some of his clothes shredded around him.
The stranger was still conscious, though! “Hey, hey! Come on-a, don’t close your eyes. You gotta stay awake: falling asleep when you’ve lost-a blood is a bad idea.” (Thank goodness for his medical knowledge as Doctor Mario, there.) Tipping his hat in thought, he managed to pick up some of the shredded clothing around the stranger, and bind the wounds. Phew. They shouldn’t lose any more blood, but it was a temporary fix at best. They really needed to get to the hospital.
The stranger suddenly spoke up again as the short man did his best to pick them up, face paling. ‘beh...nd....u...’
“Beh ‘nd what-a now? I don’t-a get it...you’re using up energy, you should not talk...oh, wait! I know what you mean! Behind me!” Cheerful statement at first, but then Mario realized with a start what that might mean, and turned to face...a stranger with clothes that seemed incredibly familiar, but he couldn’t place his finger on how yet - the garb was just too different.
“Er...so, I’ve heard of ‘ picking up chicks’, but I guess I came here to...pick up a stranger, right?”
Oh boy. Mario and his bad jokes. But the joke was made to try and test just how volatile this stranger was...were they from the other hive city, or not? A bad joke seemed a better way than trying to yell at the guy with an injured person in his hands.
