AKEKJDBSBSBS YEAH I DO !!!!!! I haven’t been putting a lot of my brain cells towards it tho so most of what you see on the blog is what I’ve got down solidly lmao 😭😭
It is going to be sooooo rgb sibling heavy and I know I haven’t actually put down a lot for them…… but it’s there trust 🫶 a lot of combating social narratives and forging peace between both the self and the world around us, challenging fate and destiny………. like I hope you feel me
there is ANOTHER fledgling au featuring rgb sibs tho,,,, if you've heard of the dragon prince. yes. rgb siblings in the dragon prince. yes it is kind of unhinged. i have a whole map of everything and stuff
buuuuuuut you can bully me if you want to see more of either one :P
in the meantime here's like the opening section of the comic i keep promising to make lmaoooooo

EXT: THE COVE, BENEATH THE SHADOWS OF THE DESTINY’S BOUNTYAfternoon
KAI and LLOYD, in dragon form, are resting in the cove. Kai is looking up to see dragons flying overhead; he’s not worried about the dragons seeing them, because the two are propped under the shadows of an old ship, the DESTINY’S BOUNTY. A thought occurs to Kai, and without looking he asks Lloyd a question.
KAI: Hey, Lloyd?
Lloyd is curled around the space he and Kai have found together. Without looking up, Lloyd answers from the ground.
LLOYD: Yeah?
KAI: I know you’ve probably been asked this, but… how can you fly? All the other dragons have wings, but I’m guessing you and the dranhoni…don’t?
Lloyd pauses; he is unsure on how to best answer.
LLOYD: We don’t. We’re part oni. We don’t use the essences the same way the dragons do. Or, we share some element of how the dragons do. You know what I’m saying?
KAI: No, I’m not sure I do. I bet you learned all that in Dranhoni School.
wakes up in a cold sweat. bromantic flight implications you say
YES bromantic flight implications. it's a silly implication let's be real. hiccup snags the most fearsome beast of the time by showing empathy toward toothless and recognising that dragons are incredibly intelligent and perceptive.
it'd be funny if it was the reverse- rather than kai being the one to facilitate connection, it's lloyd that recognises that humans are not hungry bloodthirsty little creatures, that there is a misunderstanding between all sides, and he as a dragon-oni hybrid is probably the only one able to clearly understand that. and he wins kai's trust by showing him that they aren't bound to what's laid out for them, that they can push forward in their own ways
kai being dressed in red is a green flag for dragons because it unintentionally draws a connection between him and firstbourne, but it's conflicting for the dragons because. uh he's a hunter! so they're Confused as to what to do with kai. but lloyd? lloyd knows there's more to kai and his unintentional green (red?) flags.
Descendents — as a result of the continued war between dragon and oni, various groups have emerged from the warring two. Their origins vary drastically, leading to a spectrum of distrust and alliances with either dragon or oni
Dragonian — a tribe of dragons born without attunement with the elements. They are comparatively smaller than their greater counterparts, being bipedal in nature but retaining core draconic features: wings, tails, and red scales; their scale patterns are modelled after Firstbourne. They live close to dragon settlements, and share the dragons’ distaste for other varying species.
*Dranhoni — (from the old draconic words “dran” for dragon, “honi” for oni) creatures descended from both dragons and oni. Unlike their dragon ancestors, they lack wings but have small vestigial stumps on their back; they have mastered the ability to fly by using their attuned essences and their limbs; if either of these are compromised, they won’t be able to fly. Like their oni ancestors, they have the limited ability to shapeshift between forms; they can shift between draconic forms (non-winged longs with vestigial stumps in place of wings) and quasi-human forms that retain some draconic/oni characteristics (tails, horns, vestigial wings). They serve no one, and have been hunted to extinction.
*Humans — creatures who were born from the blood spilled between oni and dragons; war is all they have ever known. They are born without attunement with the elements. After stumbling upon dragon bone, the humans became Hunters, killing dragons and dranhoni and preparing for war with the oni…whenever that may be.
btw i have to thank ffxiv for "dranhoni" i can't fucking believe this
knowing lloyd im just imagining him gesturing to his stump like "holy fucking smokes dude! my cut is insane! shoutout to my barber" as kai has like his face in his hands after yet another failed test drive of the prosthetic arm (it may have blown up a little)
lloyd can only give kai a 5/10 because he doesn't have his other hand
Fully imagining Lloyd in bromantic flight being as uncooperative and annoying as Toothless was when Hiccup was first figuring out the prosthetic, except this time Lloyd’s just being a prick on purpose bc it’s funny and he wants to make sure this dumbass guy knows he is NOT forgiven.
Except yknow Lloyd’s ‘punishments’ are flicking the back of his head w his tail and pretending it was nothing. Or eating all the snacks Kai brought. Or coiling his noodle body around a tree like some snake and force Kai to try and unwind him or suffer putting the saddle on at some ridiculous angle
agni draw them consistently challenge (impossible)
but hey at least kai is channeling "fed up hiccup" energy!! so!!! a win is a win!!!
something something Ninjago/HTTYD au can actually be a thing because they both deal with characters who want to live up to expectations but end up finding their own way to achieving wondrous things
also dragons? pit to fight dragons in? dragon riders?
runs back into bromantic flight. eyo does that mean Lloyd has a saddle (not actually a saddle, but something that connects to both him and Kai that is) that Kai can use to move Lloyd's arm in dragon form while traveling around on him?
I made a doodle just for you, dear anon
(lloyd is extra noodle-y now)
(also not tumblr eating the quality again god im so sorry)
Anyway what you're seeing here is that, yes, Kai has a saddle that he uses to connect the prosthetic to. The little glowing yellow things around Kai's leg? They're supposed to represent the straps that Kai fastens around his thigh to connect him to Lloyd's prosthetic (but i grew lazy and did not draw them in properly lmao)
Kai's thigh would be strapped to the radioulnar portion of the prosthetic, and the "stirrup" Kai's foot rests in is bolted into this sliding piston in the carpal portion of the prosthetic (which i also did not draw (forgot to) so you'll have to imagine it).
The main idea behind the self-regulating pistons is actually based on a real-life phenomenon called the perching reflex, which is found in birds! A series of "flexor tendons" are attached from the bird's femur and stretch all the way down to the back of the leg and the underside of the toes. When the bird extends its legs, the toes extend as well because the tendons relax; and when the the bird flexes its legs, the toes curl up because now the tendon is stretched around the bones and prevent free movement. This is actually how birds can sit in trees and sleep all night without falling.
(from Bird Vet Melbourne)
Similar thing is happening with the prosthetic, but instead of tendons it's pistons. When Kai flexes his leg, his thigh draws up the upper portion of the prosthetic and his flexing ankle (dorsiflexion) curls up the prosthetic's fingers, so to speak; and when Kai straightens his leg, his thigh pushes the upper portion downward, and his foot extension (plantarflexion) also extends the fingers.
I know this sounds like an absolute workout for Kai, and it is, and you may think by the time he comes back after numerous test flights everyone is very aware of his bulging quads, but it's not that obvious; it's like riding bicycle, if you think about. a really long bicycle. with one leg. while flying in the air. It's pretty much the same thing.
TLDR: there is a saddle that connects to the prosthetic. Kai sits on the saddle and uses his leg to adjust Lloyd’s prosthetic
