Queen Elizabeth's Favorite Beauty Products Have Stood the Test of Time
Queen's commercial preferences can be deduced from her royal warrants. The select few companies that hold royal warrants have been supplying the House of Windsor for years, and have earned the privilege to boast about their royal clientele. Here, a selection of the Queen's must-have powders, creams, and scents—many of which hold an elusive royal warrant. by CHLOE FOUSSIANES AUG 3, 2019
Ever Matte Radiant Matifying Powder $36.00
Queen Elizabeth was famously crowned wearing Clarins cosmetics, after commissioning the company to create a shade of lipstick that went with her coronation robes. These days, she's still using the brand's products regularly (Clarins holds a royal warrant for "skincare and cosmetics"), and it's rumored that its Ever Matte powder is among the Queen's must-haves.
Nail Polish in Ballet Slippers $8.50
According to Essie's website (and a few other sources), the Queen's hairdresser wrote the brand's founder, Essie Weingarten, back in 1989 to request a bottle of Ballet Slippers. Rumor has it that to this day, it's the only polish that graces Her Majesty's nails.
Hand and Nail Treatment Cream, Clarins $30.00
This tube of hand and nail cream is rumored to "never run out at the palace," per the Telegraph. After all, if she's getting her nails done regularly, the Queen surely has to keep up that perfect manicure.
Beautiful Color Moisturizing Lipstick, Elizabeth Arden $21.20
The Queen has long been a fan of Elizabeth Arden's lipsticks—according to Hello, the brand has held a royal warrant for over 55 years. Though it's not known exactly which color the British monarch prefers, she does tend to sport bold pink shades, similar to Wildberry (pictured here).
Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant, Elizabeth Arden $22.00
Another one of the Queen's Elizabeth Arden favorites is the brand's Eight Hour Cream, according to the Telegraph. In 2016, a press representative said the brand frequently communicated with the Queen's senior dresser, Angela Kelly, to service the monarch. "We work closely with Angela Kelly and her team to ensure we provide excellent service for whatever Her Majesty requires, or would like to try," the representative said, per the Telegraph. "We can reveal however that we are immensely proud."
Lemon and Neroli Soap, Bronnley England $25.00
Bronnley was first awarded a royal warrant back in 1943 by King George VI, and Queen Elizabeth would later offer one as well. It's not known exactly which Bronnley products are stocked at Buckingham Palace, but the brand's Lemon and Neroli Soap is a good bet, as it's one of Bronnley's fan favorites.
Delicious Rhubarb and Rose Body Wash , Molton Brown $30.00
Yet another royal warrant-holder, Molton Brown has the privilege of supplying the Queen with "toiletries." Again, no one's managed to discover the particular products the monarch enjoys, but based on her penchant for pink, we're theorizing that this body wash is a strong contender.
Oval Cherry Wood Hairbrush, Kent $78.00
Kent is the world's oldest brush manufacturer, and has held a royal warrant for a whopping ninereigning monarchs, including Queen Elizabeth.
White Rose Eau De Toilette, Floris London $138.00
According to Floris, the likes of Frankenstein author Mary Shelley, King George IV, and Florence Nightingale were all devotees—meaning that Queen Elizabeth is in good company. Floris has a royal warrant from the Queen, as her "perfumers," and although she's never mentioned the scent she's keen on, we're betting on the floral White Rose.
English Lavender with Essential Oils Soap Bar, Yardley $12.07
Back in the mid-seventeenth century, Yardley secured a royal warrant from King Charles I to supply all of London's soap. These days, the brand no longer maintains a monopoly on the capital, but it retains a royal tie. Royal residences reportedly keep Yardley soaps on-hand, and per Marie Claire, private guests to Windsor Castle are given Yardley products, too.
I got some new perfume and it is one of the prettiest things I have ever laid my sleep-deprived eyes upon ♡♡
