I've drawn Rufus before but I wanted to make a better version - a bit more true to my comic-y style than trying too hard with rendering I'm not as comfortable with. This time with a full outfit! This is particularly books 1-3, so Bronze Rank.

Design notes!

he's described often as a very beautiful man

he denies shining his bald head

he has one gold and one silver sword with his sun/moon powers, so I used those and his blue boots for the palette

he has some aforementioned ridiculously ostentatious blue boots that twitch chat helped me make as glorious as possible

I always felt like he'd have a fancy man suit-style adventurer outfit.

Did you know his family runs a school?

A HWFWM character I've been meaning to post for a while - Vincent from Greenstone, books 1-3!

His most noted features were his magnificent mustache and hat with large feather! He ended up looking suspiciously musketeer-y, but this is pretty much exactly how I pictured him in my head reading it so I'm happy with it.

His true form is described as small, serpentine and covered with shifting rainbows. I took inspiration from Lung Dragons, especially so he can have a bit of a mustache. Not sure if I nailed the colors, but just imagine shifting holographic glitter✨

A bit more sketchy but here's my first takes on Jason's familiars at Bronze Rank! Just the same format I used for Instagram, like most of these will be for now. Close up only for Colin and Gordon, since Shade is all shadow, no detail.

My first take on Rufus, Farrah and Gary! I've since drawn Farrah and Gary at Silver Rank, and I like those ones better.

Design Notes:

Rufus - described as having midnight black skin, a shiny bald head, and extra good looking. Like, someone mentions how beautiful he is almost as much as someone mentions how pointy Jason's chin is.

Farrah - brown eyes, button nose, pixie-like features, strawberry blonde hair long enough to put in a ponytail. Usually.

Gary - a leonid that anyone from earth mentioned looking like Ron Pearlman in that one Beauty and the Beast tv show. Apparently gives great hugs.
