Maybe Nancy wasn’t going to Ace to tell him she loved him.
Hear me out.
Whenever Nancy was confused, upset, in need of a sounding board, or any other emotional quandary, Ace was who she went to. Maybe she just wanted to sort it out and move on, but hearing that he’d already left crushed her.
When he gets back, I foresee a lot of Nancy either going to someone else (jealous Ace), or being closed off completely to him (frustrated Ace). Either way, I don’t think he’ll give her space. He really doesn’t rock at that. If anything it’ll make him go nuts. Like Gil did, but worse because Ace missed her, and she doesn’t wanna hang.
