Love this uniquely fabulous loft in Brooklyn, New York, that the owner calls “The Bird’s Nest.” It’s full of unusual vintage finds and 3 fabulous fish tanks.

The apt. enters directly into the living room. You can see the large fish tank on the right.

There are 2 bedrooms, but the master is actually a raised platform in the living room area. Looks like it’s on a stage, doesn’t it? There’s lots of storage underneath, and room for a huge armoire.

In this pass-thru is a fish tank. What a lovely sunny little area.

One thing about lofts- if they have big factory windows, they get tons of light.

If you can get your hands on an old accordion, cheaply, go for it.

On the other side of the fish tank is a compact kitchen- a cart was made from copper pipes and copper sheets form a backsplash. 

The saltwater fish tank is a stunning piece. 

The bedroom is used as a guest room. 

Nice bathroom with a smaller tank. 

This cool shelf is a DIY that was made with copper pipes and wood.

This is very different and pretty cool-  Lili Diallo is a Parisian, a stylist, and lives in New York. She has given her loft, a former tailoring workshop in Brooklyn, a look of “exquisite neglect.” Have you ever heard of that look? It’s new to me, so I was curious.

In the dining room, she has the emblematic mid century 'Panton' chairs with a vintage flower fabric screen. The loft’s style is a bohemian-chic, where the broken, the imperfections of the walls and floors, the paint strokes and the mix of styles of second-hand or Ikea furniture , further accentuate its unpretentious beauty.

In the office is a Danish sofa from the 50s.

Also in the office, is a red Moroccan pouf and a flea market table.

In the kitchen, Ikea clock, Urban Outfitters deer plate and Vogue Paris calendar.

She’s got an old American fridge full of magnets and inspiring cutouts that she accumulates.

In the bedroom, the white sideboard is from Ikea and the porcelain Chinese foo dog is from a flea market, as is the pink poster and painting. The lamp is from a vintage store and the stool in front of the bed is recovered and reupholstered by Lili.

On the old table, a flea market find, Missoni towels. The lantern is from China Town and the mirror was bought in a vintage store.

Along with the house's original antique bathtub, a red container and a black ceramic stool. The imitation cheetah screen is the work was made by Lili. She kept the copper pipes from the ceiling for their decorative nuance.

Look at the long party table.

Well-planned use of space. 

Fully equipped kitchen. This is such a good conversion, especially in a long  space.

The bedroom is small, but cozy, and there’s some clever storage. I also like the ceiling.

Even if you’re not into maximalism, this Brooklyn, New York loft is light, bright, and organized.

Bags, hats, jackets, etc., hang on a wall at the entry.

Even though the retro orange fireplace is just a disconnected prop, I love the way it looks.

They’ve incorporated lots of mid-century pieces and I always loved stacked old suitcases.

This kitchen is FULLY equipped, and storage is simple IKEA shelving.

The media/art area is stunning. Look at all the things.

The dining area, just outside the bedroom, which is separated by curtains, is roomy. 

You can see the bed from the dining area, or close it off.

Stunning organization, but it’s so simple- just black & white boxes.

Jesse & Lauren’s stylish old industrial loft conversion in Brooklyn, New York is making me green with envy. I love the door and closet area as soon as you walk in. 

Room for a Honda that doubles as a blanket holder.

I think it’s polished look comes from all the old brick walls being whitewashed. 

This is a wonderful reclaimed antique piece.

Very neat loft in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, New York. 

Lots of white, which isn’t exactly the color of the average loft.

Pretty and cozy, isn’t it?
