 BILL’D NEVER HEAR THE END OF IT.   bill had come to visit home from college,   and georgie was within the throes of high school,  and lo and behold ---- growth spurts.  they were miracle workers.  as bill passes through the threshold of that  OLD HOUSE,  luggage in hand,  and is promptly met with a  TIGHT EMBRACE from his  not-so-little brother   -   something clicks in them both.   in the short year bill’s been gone,    georgie got taller.   the younger says nothing;  he only pulls away,   his  grin utterly  UNBELIEVING and almost  mocking  as he gazes at the other.   waiting for the other to bite!   this was georgie’s true moment of satisfaction!

  “YOU’RE GONNA MAKE ME  go alone?”  georgie replies to his brother,  wariness the only tone  EVIDENT in his voice  & brow creasing in UNCERTAINTY.  georgie hated that cellar from day one,  and he was always sure to make that  KNOWN  to others whenever it came up.  even if it was something as simple as fetching a well-loved vhs tape,  georgie still didn’t want to go by himself.  ( it gave him a bad feeling,  that cellar.  and no matter how many times georgie managed to  CONVINCE himself that he was brave and go down there anyways  couldn’t  SHAKE that feeling. ) “--  c’mon,  billy, just come with me.”  georgie begged.

     ronnie was very much lost in his own little world, thinking about how he was going to get out of this town, how he was going to one day become a real cop so he could do actual good for people. so when bill spoke up like that, the young teenager came out of his head and looked at the other.

          “look, i’m not here to cause any trouble, bill, i’m here for my brother and i know i---i ran away after---but i’m here now--so let me stay.” it wasn’t like he was going to be going anywhere anyway, even if bill said he couldn’t go and fight pennywise with the rest of them, he’d still stay in derry. 

     if anything, his courses in medical aid would help--right?
