Ich habe nur hochqualitative Kakteen Samen in Programm die ausgiebig getestet wurden. Deswegen sind meine Preise ein wenig teurer als bei anderen Händlern, aber ich finde es ist besser 30 gesunde Sämlinge von einer 3 Euro Packung zu bekommen als 20 kränkliche Sämlinge von 1000 günstigeren Kakteen Samen. Es gibt auf dem Deutschen und internationalen Kaktusmarkt sehr viel gute Qualität. Aus Südamerika kommt aber auch  sehr viel schlechtes Saatgut auf den Markt und meine Philosophie ist es einfach alles genau zu testen um problematische Kakteen Samen Sorten gar nicht erst in den Verkauf gelangen zu lassen. Weil mein Sortiment überschaubar ist, ist das noch möglich. Deswegen garantiere ich bei meinen Kakteen Samen Keimfähigkeit und falls es mal Probleme mit einer Sorte geben könnte können Sie mir jederzeit schreiben. Mein Schwerpunkt liegt auf der Gattung Trichocereus, aber ich habe auch noch viele andere Kakteen Samen Sorten.

Der Standard Preis für eine Tüte mit 30 Kakteen Samen sind 3,00 Euro. Es gibt einen Mindestbestellwert von 10 Euro. Deutsch: Schöne neue Sorte von Tr. bridgesii aus La Paz, des Typus Ortes von Trichocereus bridgesii. Exzellente Qualität!

A new strain of Trichocereus bridgesii from La Paz! The city is one of the few places where Trichocereus bridgesii can be found and this is a textbook example of a Tr. bridgesii. Much like Friedrich Ritter´s collection of Trichocereus bridgesii. Fresh harvest!

  Trichocereus pachanoi, Ecuador NEW

Deutsch: Ein typischer Vertreter eines Tr. pachanoi aus Ecuador. Mit stark ausgeprägten V-Markierung und schöner grüner Farbe. Eine tolle Sorte die sehr selten ist!

Engl: This is a typical San Pedro from the type locality of the species in Ecuador. They have strong V-notches and very short spines that are sometimes even completely lacking. I´ve been hunting this strain for years and it´s a honor to have it in the shop.

Trichocereus peruvianus Cieneguillas, Peru NEW

Deutsch: Eine schöne Sorte von Trichocereus peruvianus mit sehr blauer Epidermis und braunen Stacheln. Diese Sorte kommt ursprünglich aus dem Lima Bezirk Cieneguillas. Ausgezeichnete Keimrate! Eng: Another beautiful Trichocereus from the Peruvian district Cieneguillas in the Lima area. Super blue & glaucous. Seeds fresh from this year.

    Trichocereus peruvianus from SAN MARCOS ANCASH NEW

Deutsch: Schöne Peruvianus Sorte aus SAN MARCOS in Ancash. Die Keimrate war fast 100% als ich sie vor einigen Wochen getestet habe. Ausgezeichnete Qualität!

  Engl: This is a new Peruvianus type from the city of San Marcos, which is known for their amazing Trichocereus populations. Those seeds are premium with nearly 90-100% germination rate. Freshly harvested and a great new addition to my shop. We will be grafting those to find out more about this particular strain.

Trichocereus pachanoi / Peruvianus Intermediate (fresh 2016 seeds with excellent viability)

Deutsch: Diese Sorte ist einer meiner Lieblingstrichos die ich im Shop habe. Eine sehr interessante Zwischenform von Tr. pachanoi und Trichocereus peruvianus. Sämlinge sind meistens stark bestachelt, verlieren aber später zunehmend die Bestachelung. Es handelt sich um keine 100% Pachanois, aber es ist auch kein typischer Tr. peruvianus.

Engl: This is one of my most favorite strains and originally comes from the Arequipa area. It is botanically pure in the sense that both parents are representatives of the same regional type, what makes this a wonderful plant that is somewhere between Trichocereus pachanoi and Trichocereus peruvianus. The plants can be spiny or rather spineless, which is a great example how variable those plants can be. To me, this is one of the best Trichocereus species in the shop.

  Trichocereus tulhuayacensis KK337 Richard Hipp.

Deutsch: Diese Sorte ist neu im Shop und bisher habe ich nur wenige Informationen. Am Standort kommen sowohl weißblütige als auch rotblühende Formen vor. Die Mutterpflanzen dieser Samen sind KK337 aus Huachac. Ich konnte leider nicht herausfinden welche Farbe die Blüte hat. Deswegen verkaufe ich die Samen mit Hinweis auf mögliche Weißblütigkeit. Es handelt sich aber auf jeden Fall um die richtige Spezies.

Engl: Extremely rare! Trichocereus tulhuayacensis is the only non-white flowering San Pedro type. The plant comes from the Huachac area, where you can find white and pink flowering specimens of this species growing at the same site. That´s why I am not sure how those plants will flower. They are Kk337 Trichocereus tulhuayacensis and that´s pretty much all the info I have. They are definitely the right species, but when buying seeds from Peru you sometimes need to take chances. That´s why I explicitly offer them as a white flowering version. We are currently making seedling grafts of this species to determine the flower color, but it´ll take a while until those are big enough to say more. Those Tr. tulhuayacensis seeds are extremely viable and grow into super strong looking seedlings. You can just see how healthy those are and I am glad to have them in the shop.

  Trichocereus tarapacana / Soehrensia taracapana TARAPACA, PUTRE NEW

  Deutsch: Diese Pflanze gehört ganz klar irgendwo in den Genus Soehrensia. Bei dieser Gattung handelt es sich um eine Brückengattung zwischen Trichocereus und Lobivia und diese Pflanzen sind generell selten und begehrt! Engl: This plant clearly falls within the genus Soehrensia, though it is sometimes listed as a Trichocereus. Soehrensia is the intermediate genus between Trichocereus and Lobivia and those plants are always rare and popular. This one is closely related to Soehrensia uebelmanniana, but so far this is all that I know.

Trichocereus puquiensis from Puquio. Bei Trichocereus puquiensis handelt es sich um eine seltene Spezies die aus Puquio stammt und für ihre vielen Rippen bekannt ist. Selten und gesucht. Engl: I do not know much about this type yet. What I do know is that this is probably a five ribbed version from Puquio that´s somewhere between Tr. cuzcoensis and Tr. peruvianus.

      Trichocereus poco / Trichocereus Tarijensis NEW STRAINS

Deutsch: Trichocereus poco gehört in die direkte Verwandtschaft von Trichocereus tarijensis und ich habe verschiedene Regionalitäten im Shop. Die Art wächst in Südwest und Südbolivien und Argentinien. Es handelt sich um sehr beeindruckende und dicht bestachelte Pflanzen.

Engl: Trichocereus poco is synonymous with Trichocereus tarijensis. Some regional forms of Trichocereus tarijensis are called POCO or Trichocereus poco and this is one of them. Trichocereus tarijensis grows in Southwest and South Bolivia and in Argentina. Apart from the standard form of Trichocereus poco, I also have various regional forms of Trichocereus poco:

    Trichocereus poco var. SANGUINIFLORUS Backeberg NEW Deutsch: Diese regionale Form ist eine Version mit tiefroten Blüten und ist deswegen sehr selten. Die Blütenfarbe bei dieser Spezies wechselt zwischen rosa und rot und diese Sorte hat halt deutlich rotere Blüten als andere Regionalitäten. Engl: This is an extremely rare regional form of Trichocereus poco with red flowers from Tupiza in Bolivia. Those flowers are a lot darker than what we know from other regionalities. Very limited number of extremely fresh seeds.

Trichocereus poco var. fricianus NEW

Deutsch: Eine weitere Form von Tr. poco aus Cucho Ingenio. Es handelt sich um eine neue Sorte, bei der die Blüten eher pink sind. Engl: This regional form comes from Cucho Ingenio at 3.800 meters altitude. It is a new strain that I have in stock and the viability is outstanding. The flower color of those is more purple, compared to the reddish color of the SANGUINIFLORUS.

Trichocereus poco Argentina NEW

Deutsch: Tolle Sorte von Tr. poco aus Argentinien. Auch sehr selten und mit perfekter Keimrate. Engl: This strain just came in and has an outstanding germination rate as well. The typical Trichocereus poco, as it is loved and sought after by many cactus growers. This strain is of Argentinian origin. Trichocereus poco Villazon NEW

Deutsch: Diese Sorte stammt aus Villazon auf 3500 metern. Another beautiful regional form of Trichocereus poco. This one originally is from Villazon at 3.500 meters.

  Trichocereus narvaezensis Trichocereus werdermannianus NEW

Deutsch: Trichoereus werdermannianus ist ein naher Verwandter von Trichocereus taquimbalensis aus Bolivien. Es handelt sich eventuell um eine Zwischenform von einem großen Anden-Trichocereus wie Tr. terscheckii oder Tr. atacamensis und Tr. taquimbalensis. Sehr schöne Sorte! Engl: This species from Bolivia is a close relative of Trichocereus taquimbalensis and Tr. tacaquirensis. In my opinion, it could be a natural intermediate hybrid between Trichocereus taquimbalensis and Trichocereus terscheckii.

  Trichocereus werdermannianus Otavi NEW

Deutsch: Diese Sorte von Tr. werdermannianus stammt ursprünglich aus Potosi, Bolivien. Mit dunkeler Epidermis wie das bei dieser Art so üblich ist. Engl: This strain is from the city Otavi in Potosi, Bolivia. They look like a mix between Tr. werdermannianus and Tr. taquimbalensis. The plants are definitely typical with a dark gray skin color and very curvy spines. Beautiful strain with great germination rate. New seeds from 2016.

Trichocereus werdermannianus from Lecori, Bolivia NEW Diese Sorte ist auch als Trichocereus lecoriensis bekannt. Es handelt sich um einen schönen Trichocereus aus dem Formenkreis von Tr. taquimbalensis/werdermannianus.

Engl: Another strain from Bolivia. This one is also called Trichocereus lecoriensis and represents the type that is typically known as Tr. werdermannianus. Huge plants with fat trunk and almost blue gray epidermis. Lovely strain that is really sought after.

    Trichocereus bridgesii Australian Hybrid Seed (High quality seeds)

Deutsch: Diese Samen wurden von einem Australischen Zuchthybriden geerntet und sind allerbeste Qualität. Ausgezeichnete Keimfähigkeit und sehr ungewöhnliche Pflanzen.

Engl: This is an Australian hybrid involving Trichocereus bridgesii. The plants are fat and don’t look like Tr. bridgesii typically looks like. This hybrid was selected because of its outstanding growth and toughness and belongs to the most unstoppable Trichocereus species in regards to the growth speed. Beautiful strain from a private Australian grower.

  Trichocereus cordobensis (Trichocereus scopulicola)

Deutsch: Trichocereus cordobensis ist eine kommerzielle Varietät die aus dem Formenkreis von Trichocereus scopulicola stammt. Die Sorte ist stacheliger und nicht identisch mit Ritter´s Original FR991. Sehr selten und gesucht! Engl: This is some fat kind of Trichocereus scopulicola, which was once described by Friedrich Ritter as Trichocereus crassicostatus. Ritter regarded it as some sort of Scop, but felt it was unique enough to describe it separately. To me, they are a textbook Scop that tends to have longer spines and is a little bit fatter. Nonetheless it still belongs into the Tr. scopulicola group. Though Tr. cordobensis and the SUPER PEDRO hybrid are not the same clone, both are probably representatives of the same species originally described as Tr. crassicostatus.

Trichocereus peruvianus MATUCANA Deutsch: Diese Sorte ist ein Paradebeispiel eines Trichocereus peruvianus aus Matucana. Tolle Pflanzen mit blauer Farbe und zeitweise rötlichen Stacheln. Keine Tr. cuzcoensis sondern artreine Tr. peruvianus. This is a beautiful dark blue Peruvianus from Matucana, similar to the types called Rosei 1 and Rosei 2 or ICARO DNA. Non-cuzcoensis and one of the best plants I´ve seen so far.

Trichocereus scopulicola NEW

Deutsch: Hier handelt es sich um originale Tr. scopulicola Samen. Ich habe eine Irrfahrt und lange Suche nach original Scop Samen hinter mir und bin sehr froh dass ich diese hier bei einem privaten Züchter bekommen habe. Aus Bolivien gibt es schon seit Jahren keine authentischen Samen mehr. Engl: This is a genuine Scop strain and I am extremely happy that I was finally able to add some true Scop seeds to my shop. Those seeds are fresh from the current harvest and have outstanding viability.

Trichocereus peruvianus RIO LURIN LIMA NEW

Deutsch: Diese Sorte von Trichocereus peruvianus stammt aus dem Lurin Tal in Lima. Sehr schöne Pflanzen mit starken Stacheln. Extrem solide und gut wachsend.

So far, I wasnt able to see adult plants of this type. It´s probably somewhere between Tr. peruvianus and Tr. cuzcoensis. Very nice looking seedlings that will probably grow into spiny monsters. The first seedling grafts point towards them being NON-CUZCOENSIS. But we´ll need some extra time to verify this. Definitely a top notch Peruvianus.  

Trichocereus peruvianus Süd Peru Huancavelica

Deutsch: Diese Sorte stammt ursprünglich aus Süd Peru und ist ein echter Geheimtip. Süd Peru ist das Zuhause von sehr stacheligen Pflanzen die irgendwo zwischen Tr. peruvianus und Tr. cuzcoensis sind. Sehr selten und auch kaum erhältlich. Engl: Massive Trichocereus from the Huancavelica region. So far, we are undecided about the exact ID of this strain. It is very likely that they will fall more into the Tr. cuzcoensis relationship, but the site is very variable and it´s possible that they end up being true Peruvianus.

Trichocereus tarmaensis FLORIDA TARMA (2 Euro / 60 seeds. Priced to sell because mediocre viability)

Deutsch: Diese Sorte stammt ursprünglich aus der Gegend um Tarma, wo sich das Zuhause von Tr. tarmaensis befindet. Die Pflanzen sind stachelig und groß und gehören in die nähere Verwandschaft von Trichocereus knuthianus. Diese Samen sind stark reduziert weil die Keimrate eher mittelmäßig ist und die Samen länger zum keimen brauchen.

Engl: This Tr. tarmaensis strain is a wonderful type from the Tarma area. There they grow in direct neighborhood of Trichocereus knuthianus and intermediates between both are known and you can see the similarity in this regional form of Tr. tarmaensis.

Deutsch: Auch hier handelt es sich um einen Typ aus der Gegend um Tarma. Die Pflanzen sind irgendwo zwischen Tr. knuthianus und Tr. tarmaensis und haben sehr starke Rippen. Auch diese Samen sind stark reduziert. Die Keimfähigkeit ist okay aber nicht herausragend. Engl: This is a really rare strain and I am really glad that I was able to help keeping this plant around in the Trichocereus community. Beautiful Tricho with very strong ribs. Both Trichocereus knuthianus as well as Tr. tarmaensis grow close to each other and are somewhat related.  

Trichocereus tacaquirensis TACAQUIRA, BOLIVIA (New Batch)

Deutsch: Trichocereus tacaquirensis ist ein naher Verwandter von Tr. taquimbalensis. Sehr abgefahrene Stacheln und schöne Blüten. Engl: Rare Trichocereus from the Taquimbalensis group, but more rare and with a different spination that can only be seen on adult plants. Young plants look a lot like Tr. taquimbalensis. Trichocereus andalgalensis x Tr. Grandiflorus Crassicaulis

Deutsch: Dieser Zuchthybride ist eine Kreuzung von Tr. andalgalensus und Trichocereus grandiflorus var. Crassicaulis. Die Mutterpflanze hatte gelbe Blüten, was defintiv eine interessante kreuzung darstellt. Engl: Trichocereus andalgalensis was described as yellow flowering variety of Trichocereus huascha. Here it was crossed with Trichocereus grandiflorus var. crassicaulis. An interesting flower color should be expected.

Trichocereus bertramiana

Deutsch: Bei Tr. bertramiana handelt es sich um einen nahen Verwandten von Trichocereus tarijensis. Sehr seltene und gesuchte Art! Engl: This is a relative of Tr. tarijensis and is extremely rare! Fresh seeds!

  Trichocereus huascha CATAMARCA ARGENTINA

Deutsch: Ein Klassiker und immer wieder gesuchter Kaktus aus Argentinien. Die Art wird auch oft in der Hybridenzucht benutzt. Frisch aus 2016. Engl: Fresh seeds from 2016!

Deutsch: Eine regionale Form von Trichocereus huascha aus LA RIOJA. Tolle Keimrate! Engl: This is a rare regional form of Trichocereus huascha that I just got in. Fresh from the recent harvest and incredibly viable. I do not know how it differs from the other form of Trichocereus huascha, but it´s very likely those come up totally different to the other one I have in stock.

  Trichocereus cuzcoensis Matucana NEW

Deutsch: Ein perfektes Beispiel eines Trichocereus cuzcoensis aus Matucana. Exzellente Keimrate. English: This is a textbook example of a Trichocereus cuzcoensis. It has strong spines, swollen spine bases and grows into massive columns that will blow you away. This species is a great and I finally have premium quality seeds.

Deutsch: Eine Kreuzung von Tr. pachanoi und Tr. peruvianus. Sehr schön wachsende Sämlinge. Engl: Cross between Trichocereus pachanoi and Trichocereus peruvianus. Not sure if this is PC or not but the seedlings that I´ve sown looked fantastic.

  Trichocereus escayachensis ESCAYACHI NEW

Deutsch: Tr. escayachensis is nah mit Tr. werdermannianus verwandt und ist wohl auch teilweise synomym. Also eine regionale Form von Tr. werdermannianus. Engl: Trichocereus escayachensis is a regional form of Trichocereus werdermannianus that slightly differs from it by the bright green epidermis color. It is also closely related to the group surrounding Tr. atacamensis and might as well be a stabilized hybrid of some sort. From Escayachi, 3.800 meters.

    Trichocereus pasacana CATAMARCA NEW

Deutsch: Trichocereus pasacana ist ein Klassiker und einer der schönsten Trichos die es so gibt. Diese Sorte stammt aus Catamarca und hat eine hervorragende Keimrate. Eng: This rare Pasacana strain comes from the Catamarca province in Northwest Argentina. It is a typical Pasacana form that grows into huge giants that are very spiny and many meters tall.

  Trichocereus conacensis COCHABAMBA NEW Deutsch: Hier handelt es sich um eine regionale Form von Trichocereus bertramianus. Ebenfalls sehr selten und in der Kakteenliteratur nur unzureichend besprochen. Aus Chochabamba.

Eng: This regional form of Trichocereus bertramianus has hairy areoles. Its floral tube is covered with black hairs as well as thinner and/or less spines in general. It is extremely rare and it took me quite a lot of energy to get my hands on those seeds. Premium quality just like all my seeds.

  Trichocereus orurensis RIO PUNITAQUI NEW

Deutsch: Trichocereus orurensis ist ein naher Verwandter von Tr. poco, der jedoch ein wenig stacheliger ist. Sehr schöne Sorte aus Rio Punitaqui. Engl: This rare Trichocereus comes from Bolivia and is much more spiny than Tr. poco. The flowers are purpler than the flowers on Trichocereus poco, what makes this the northernmost reddish flower from this complex. Incredibly rare and sought after. Trichocereus orurensis ORURO, BOLIVIA NEW

Deutsch: Diese Sorte aus Oruro ist ein perfektes Beispiel für die Art Tr. orurensis. Dicht bestachelt und wirklich schön! Es handelt sich um eine absolute Seltenheit. Engl: This rare Trichocereus strain comes from the type locality of Trichocereus orurensis. The types comes from 4.000 meters altitude in the department Oruro in Bolivia. Beautiful new regional form of an already very rare species.

  Trichocereus atacamensis Baños de Puritama NEW

Deutsch: Tr. atacamensis ist ein naher Verwandter von Tr. terscheckii / pasacana. Die Pflanzen entwickeln sich zu absoluten Riesen und sind perfekte Schaupflanzen in jeder Sammlung, wenn man denn den Platz dafür im Gewächshaus hat! Selten und neu im Shop. Engl: This close relative of Trichocereus terscheckii/pasacana comes from Baños de Puritama. It is a day flowering Trichocereus that can get up to 7 meters tall. They are partially synonymous with Trichocereus terscheckii and these days Trichocereus terscheckii is seen as a subspecies of Trichocereus atacamensis. Deutsch: Bei Trichocereus randalli handelt es sich um eine regionale Form von Trichocereus Formosa. Die Art steht dem Genus Soehrensia sehr nah und wurde in die Gattung Lobivia übernommen. Sehr selten und hart zu bekommen.

Engl: This is a regional form of Trichocereus Formosa. Today, the species Tr. randalli was moved into Lobivia but is extremely rare and notoriously hard to get. This strain originally comes from Paicho at 3.500 meters. Trichocereus herzogianus LA PAZ NEW Deutsch: Trichocereus herzogianus ist eine weitere Seltenheit aus dem Genus Trichocereus. Es sind nur noch ein paar Portionen übrig und die Sorte wird wohl in den nächsten Wochen aus dem Shop genommen.

Engl: This is another one of those incredibly rare Bolivian Trichocereus species. It originally comes from the La Paz area at 3.800 meters altitude and is pretty typical of the species Trichocereus herzogianus / Echinopsis herzogiana. A very close relative of Trichocereus totorensis.

Trichocereus AUSTRALIAN DAWSONS HYBRID NEW Deutsch: Hierbei handelt es sich um einen Tr. pasacana hybriden aus Australien. Genauer gesagt aus der bekannten DAWSONS Sammlung, die in Australien bereits Kultstatus erreicht hat. Ein schöner und ungewöhnliche Hybride.

Engl: This great hybrid was originally created by a close friend of mine who sent me a load of seeds for the seed list. The quality is great and it is a very rare hybrid from the well known DAWSONS collection. Fresh seeds from 2016 harvest.

  Deutsch: Diese seltene Stenocereus Art ist ursprünglich aus Mexio. Diese Samen sind aus 2016 und frisch von Kulturpflanzen geerntet. Ausgezeichnete Keimrate von nahezu 100%. Engl: This rare species originally comes from Mexiko and is known as Pitayo. I was able to get a very fresh batch of seeds from a private grower and the seeds are from the 2016 harvest. The germination rate was almost 100% and it is one of the most fun new seeds I have in stock. Lovely columnar similar to Trichocereus.

Engl: Another beautiful Cereus strain from Bolivia. Due to the unclear situation in the genus Cereus, this species has yet to be reclassified and I am very happy that I have this rare treat in my shop.

  Cereus validus BOLIVIA NEW

Deutsch: Diese Art hat in der Vergangenheit immer wieder für Verwirrung gesorgt, weil mehrere Arten mit diesem Namen versehen waren. Bei dieser Sorte handelt es sich um den originalen Cereus validus. Engl: This rare species from Bolivia and Peru still has a mysterious touch to it because the taxonomic situation around it was totally chaotic and included two different Cereus species that were called the same name. Now, Cereus validus is THE original Cereus validus while the second one was renamed to Cereus repandus. This is a really nice Cereus strain that grows vigorously and can also be used as a grafting stock. Fresh from 2016.

Deutsch: Eine weitere seltene Cereus Art die wohl noch genauer eingeordnet warden muss. Sehr schöne Sorte die nur in kleinen Mengen auf Lager ist. Engl: The taxonomic status of this beautiful and huge Cereus species is still unclear and it´s a great feeling to have this interesting plant in the shop. I have no idea in which direction they will move this species but it´s definitely a treat and only available in very small quantities.

Deutsch: Eine schöne Pilosocereus Art aus Brasilien, die im Volksmund als Facheiro bezeichnet wird. Ganz frische Samen aus der aktuellen Ernte. Engl: This is a beautiful Pilosocereus species from Brazil that is known as FACHEIRO, FACHEIRO AZUL or MANDACARÚ DE FACHO. It is endemic to North East Brazil and one of the most typical cacti of the country. Beautiful Trichocereus-like plants with a dark blue epidermis.

  Matucana Madisonorium RIO MARANON, PERU Deutsch: Seltener Kaktus aus Peru. Diese Sorte kommt ursprünglich vom Rio Maranon und es handelt sich um Nachzuchten und nicht vom Standort gesammelte Samen.

Engl: Rare Peruvian cactus that originally comes from the Rio Maranon. Those seeds are nursery produced because the species is threatened in its original habitat. It is still a CITES 2 species that can be imported into most countries (as seeds of course)

  Armatocereus matucanensis – Matucana

Deutsch: Ich bin ein grosser Fan von Armatocereus spezien, weshalb ich sehr froh bin hier einige davon im Shop zu haben. Diese Art kommt aus Matucana. Ausgezeichnete Keimrate. Engl: There only are very few Armatocereus species available on the market! This is rare and I am happy to have it on my seed list. Matucana, 2000 meters.

Deutsch: Eine weitere (inoffizielle) Varietät von Armatocereus matucanensis. Diesmal die Var. Multiflora, die wohl stärker und früher blüht.

Engl: I love Armatocereus species. And this one is particularly rare. The name is not really valid and I am not really sure what the differences between this one and the normal strain are. Personally, I think it´s probably a strain that flowers a lot and easily. Definitely a really cool find that I am happy about. Fresh and extremely viable seeds. 1.700 meters in Matucana.

Deutsch: Diese Armatocereus Art stammt aus Zarumilla und ist bisher noch nicht eindeutig eingeordnet. Der Name wurde nirgendwo offiziell beschrieben und es handelt sich um eine Seltenheit.

Engl: This is a really rare Armatocereus strain. The species is not accepted and this is one of the most interesting Armatocereus species I just got. The taxonomic status is totally unclear and the name giganteus indicates that it might actually be a pretty big regional form. Zarumilla is a town in the Tumbes region of Peru in Northwest Peru.

This is one of the most important Armatocereus species in Peru.

Deutsch: Corryocactus sind Säulenkakteen die Trichocereus und Haageocereus zum Teil sehr ähnlich sein können. Diese Sorte kommt ursprünglich aus Arequipa in Süd Peru. Ich habe nur eine sehr begrenzte Anzahl dieser Samen. Engl: I got a very limited number of seeds from Arequipa in South Peru. This species is known as GUACALLA, CHONA or SANCAYO is produces edible fruits. Corryocactus brevispinus is a beautiful columnar cactus similar to a Trichocereus, but with very long spines and a dark gray epidermis. Beautiful cactus that is also endemic to some parts of Chile.

Deutsch: Ich habe eine Leidenschaft für Haageocereus und dies ist eine Sorte von Rio Majes aus Süd Peru. Nur ein paar Hundret Samen verfügbar. Engl: I fell in love with the genus Haageocereus and I found a whole lot of new species for the shop. The species is now known as Haageocereus platinospinus. It is a rare species from South Peru and I only have a few hundred seeds in stock. The Rio Majes in near Arequipa.

Azureocereus ayacuchensis n.n. AYACUCHO, PAMPAS NEW

Deutsch: Seltene Azureocereus Form aus Ayacucho, Südperu. Tolle Sorte die ich wirklich sehr lange gesucht habe. Engl: This is a very rare regional form of some kind of Azureocereus that originally comes from Ayacucho. The whole genus was moved into Browningia and this species was never formally described. This makes it one of the rarest plants in my shop. Azureocereus are known as lookalikes of Trichocereus macrogonus and there is a wide variety of regional forms of it.

This is as rare as it gets and it´s probably one of the best seed types I ever listed!

  Engl: I´ve been after seeds of the genus Browningia for a few years and I am glad that I found this strain of Browningia candelaris that originally comes from Nazca, Peru. The fruits are edible and are also used as natural shampoo.

Tolle regionale Form von Neoraimdondia arequipensis aus Atico. Selten! Engl: This species is not an official species and has been moved into the species Neoraimondia arequipensis. Atico is located in South Peru and it is a really rare strain. It grows around Arequipa, Lima, Ica along the coast line and on the lower slopes of the Andes. Engl: This species comes from Peru, where it grows at the Cordillera Blanca and Cordillera Negra. Beautiful cactus that can get up to 32 cm tall.

Deutsch: Eine seltene und nicht beschriebene Art eines Loxanthocereus aus Lurin, in Lima. Engl: Just like all Loxanthocereus species, this one is pretty rare and the taxonomic status of this one is not entirely clear. The seeds are from Lurin, Lima and I only have a few hundred seeds.

  Loxanthocereus eriotrichus RIO RIMAC NEW

Deutsch: Loxanthocereen sind dünne Säulenkakteen die in Europa eher selten anzutreffen sind. Deswegen ist diese Art vom Rio Rimac ein absoluter Geheimtip für Deutsche Sammlungen.

Engl: Loxanthocereus eriotrichus is originally from the Rio Rimac. The species probably belongs into the wider context of Loxanthocereus acanthurus. Rare candelabra like columns that make amazing collection plants. Very rare in cactus collections and always sought after.

  Espostoa churinensis n.n. CHURIN

Deutsch: Ein schöner und haariger kaktus aus Churin. Botanisch ist die Art bisher noch nicht eingeordnet. Eine schöne Kakteen Samen Sorte. The species name Churinensis refers to the place where this species is originally from. The taxonomic status is not clear and it may or may not be a good species. There is no description about a plant with that name and you are very welcome to grow them in order to find out more about them.

Echinocactus grusonii VIVERO, PERU Der Klassiker und allseits beliebte SCHWIEGERMUTTER Sitz. Sehr eindrucksvoller Kaktus der am Standort so gut wie ausgerottet ist. Diese Samen stammen von Kulturpflanzen und wurden nicht der Natur entnommen. Engl: Due to dam building practices, this species is almost extinct in nature. At the same time, it is a species that is heavily propagated by cactus nurseries all over the world. Which is why this species is still a CITES II species.

Trichocereus Doppelgänger und Lookalikes

Hallo Leute, auf dieser Seite werde ich in Zukunft Säulenkakteen zeigen, die Trichocereen zum Verwechseln ähnlich sehen. Es gibt eine Menge Kakteen, die immer mal wieder zu Trichocereus gezählt wurden, danach dann wieder aus dem Genus entfernt und neu beschrieben wurden und demzufolge gibt es eine große Menge alter Namen, die nicht mehr aktuell sind. Diese Namen werden unter anderem Nomen nudum oder Nomen dubiosum genannt und auch diese Pflanzen werde ich auf dieser Seite veröffentlichen.

Falls Ihr Euch nicht sicher seid, wegen der Identifizierung eines Kaktus könnt Ihr Ihn auch gerne bei uns in der Trichocereus Facebook Gruppe oder der Kakteen Facebook Gruppe posten! Und sagt mir Bescheid falls Ihr selbst Bilder habt, die auf diese Seite passen würden!

Die folgenden Kakteen werden auf dieser Seite zu finden sein:

Helianthocereus – Dieser Genus wurde von Curt Backeberg für die großen Trichocereen der Anden aufgestellt. Backeberg splittete die Arten von Trichocereus, die wie er fand, eine andere Blütezeit haben. Das heißt er differenzierte zwischen Tag- und Nachtblühern, was sich letzten Endes aber nicht als praktikabel erwies, da eine Trennung nach Blütezeitpunkt nicht eindeutig durchgeführt werden kann.

Polaskia – Die beiden Arten Polaskia Chichipe und Polaskia Chende können Trichocereus spezien sehr ähnlich sein. Mehr Information über diese Kakteen werde ich nach und nach

Wie Ihr seht, können Polaskias den Trichocereus Spezien sehr ähnlich sein. Ihr solltet Euch die Bestachelung und die eigenwillig gefärbte Epidermis einprägen.

Pachycereus: Kakteen aus der Gattung Pachycereus sind auch ein sehr häufig anzutreffender Doppelgänger! Momentan unterscheidet man die folgenden Spezien:

Pachycereus Pecten Aboriginum, Pachycereus Pringlei, Pachycereus Fulviceps, Pachycereus Gatesii, Pachycereus Gaumeri, Pachycereus Grandis, Pachycereus Hollianus, Pachycereus lepidanthus, Pachycereus Marginatus, Pachycereus Militaris, Pachycereus Schottii, Pachycereus tepamo und Pachycereus Weberi.

Exemplare der Gattung haben oft rötlich gefärbte Jungstacheln, was bei Trichocereus bis auf ganz wenige Ausnahmen so nicht vorkommt. Pachycereus und Stenocereus sind übrigens auch sehr ähnlich und bei manchen Kakteen ist eine eindeutige Zuordnung in eine der beiden Gruppen schwer möglich was auch zu einem großen Chaos in der Taxonomie geführt hat. Erschwerend hinzu kommt außerdem noch, dass man von vielen Arten der beiden Gattungen nicht genug gutes Fotomaterial gibt.

Pilosocereus: Es gibt eine Vielzahl Arten aus der Gattung Pilosocereus, die einem Trichocereus sehr ähnlich sehen können! Ein wichtiges Merkmal der Pilosocereen ist dass ihnen meistens feine Haare aus den Areolen wachsen. Und ein Trichocereus hat keine Haare! Höchstens mal wollige Areolen aber das ist etwas komplett anderes. Also, wenn  Eurer Unbekannter Kaktus haarige Areolen hat ist es kein Trichocereus. Falls Haare vorhanden sind, ist es meistens Pilosocereus oder Oreocereus. Aber dazu später noch mehr.

-Pilosocereus Azureus

Ein wichtiger und sehr oft anzutreffender Doppelgänger ist P. Azureus! Die Kakteen haben eine tiefblaue Epidermis und gebliche Stacheln die sehr dünn und fein sind! Pilosocereus spezien sind meistens sehr kälteempfindlich und halten bei weitem nicht so viel Frost aus wie Pflanzen aus Trichocereus.

Es gibt eine große Menge an Pilosocereus Spezien und ich werde sie nach und nach beschreiben. Momentan werde ich Euch nur ein Foto von Pilosocereus Azureus zeigen, da es einer der am häufigsten anzutreffenden Doppelgänger ist.

Eine noch sehr junge Gruppe von Pilosocereus Azureus! Typisch ist die dunkel blaue Epidermis, die einem Trichocereus Macrogonus ähnlich sein kann. Doch die Stacheln sind meist anders gefärbt und sehen auch sonst sehr unterschiedlich aus. Bild: Petar43

Bild: Stickpen. Hier sieht man ein deutlich älteres Exemplar! Meistens sind bei diesem Pilosocereus keine Haare vorhanden, weshalb sie oft verwechselt werden!

Stetsonia Coryne: Diese Art ist auch einer der am häufigsten mit Trichocereus verwechselten Säulenkakteen. Es gibt nur eine Art und besonders große und aus Samen gezogene Pflanzen sehen manchmal einem Trichocereus Cuzcoensis SEHR ähnlich! Bevor ich mehr darüber schreiben werde, poste ich jetzt mal ein Bild!

Bild: Stickpen. Dieses Exemplar ist ein bißchen gelb gefärbt (wahrscheinlich wegen Stickstoff Mangel) aber die Pflanzen können auch extrem grün sein. Besonders Jungpflanzen!

Bild: Feloidea! Diese Pflanze steht im botanischen Garten von Bern. Schaut Euch besonders die Rippenstruktur und den sehr langen und nach unten ragenden Mittelstachel an. Das ist sehr typisch und meistens auch bei Jungpflanzen anzutreffen.

Bild: Dave Pape. Ein schöner Stetsonia Baum, der Trichocereus Cuzcoensis durchaus ähnlich ist. Die Struktur der Pflanzen ist jedoch anders und wenn man sich mal eine ganze Menge Cuzcos angeschaut hat, suiieht man den Unterschied.

Hier seht Ihr eine aus Samen gezogene Jungpflanze! Typisch hier auch die schwarze Stachelspitze! Insgesamt sind Jungpflanzen aber einem Trichocereus Cuzcoensis am ähnlichsten und werden immer mal wieder verwechselt! Der Samen von Stetsonia Coryne ist übrigens Nierenförmig und größer als der der meisten Trichocereus spezien!

Browningia: Ein ebenfalls sehr häufig anzutreffender Doppelgänger sind Browningias! Zumindestens teilweise, denn während Browningia Hertlingianus (Azureocereus Hertliangianus & Azureocereus Viridescens) ein teilweise sehr weit verbreiteter Kaktus ist und immer mal wieder in Sammlungen zu finden ist, sind andere Browningias wie zum Beispiel Browningia Chlorocarpa sehr selten! Aber in einigen älteren Sammlungen gibt es durchaus noch eine ganze Menge Browningias, die aber oft auch nicht als solche erkannt werden.

Brownginia Hertlingiana aka Azureocereus Azureus Bild: Daderot

Brownginia Hertlingiana – Azureocereus Azureus Bild: Peter A. Mansfeld. Bitte beachtet dass es sich hierbei um eine sehr alte und extrem blaue Altpflanze handelt! Es gibt auch sehr viele aus Samen gezogene Jungpflanzen die ganz und gar nicht so aussehen und auch zu Beginn meistens deutlich weniger Rippen haben. Ein Trichocereus Macrogonus ist sehr ähnlich, hat aber nicht diese geschwungene Rippenform und ist auch bei weitem nicht so blau!

Dieses schöne Bild stammt von Frank Vincentz! Man sieht auch hier deutlich die geschwungenen Rippen, die milchig-blaue Epidermus und die starke Furche unter den Areolen.
