This was hungry-for-bruce's first live Bruce show! She'd just turned 13 and her dad had already done a good job of handing down the Trampyness. She got to see Magic Bruce (one of my top faves sob) and got to see Clarence perform Jungleland and you know that Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town video yes that one YEAH THAT TOO WITH NOT ONLY SILLY MAGIC BRUCE BUT SANTA BIG MAN plus the whole setlist is just holy shit. All that her first time, the lucky cow.

There's shitloads more artwork but these are my favorite. I couldn't pick just one they're all too yummy. And sorry it took me so long to upload (missed the anniversary) but at last here it is to download.

I LOVE THIS SILLY OLD MAN. You have got to hear this I don't care if you're not a huge fan because oh my god the dirty jokes are DEPLORABLE yet ADORABLE and they make him giggle and he admits they're bad (they are truly atrocious) and he's so cute and charming and ugh. Also good music but obviously that is secondary in the face of his blossoming career in stand-up comedy..

50 YEARS OF THE BOSS (1/?)

In the summer of 1964 then 14 year old Bruce Springsteen spent a few weeks painting his aunt's house and used $18 of the money he made to buy his very first guitar. Armed with the acoustic instrument and a copy of the 100 Greatest American Folk Songs he was set to make music history.

To celebrate 50 years of our Boss here is the first in a series of free downloadable bootlegs (none of them official releases) posted in chronological order spanning the decades. Join me on this fascinating journey into the inimitable work of this singer-songwriter rock legend.

Very special compilation bootleg. You don't have to be a huge fan to enjoy this. The man is a genius. You think you know a song inside and out, then he strips it down to its bare core and it's like hearing it for the first time. These sparse acoustic solos bring the lyrics to life, delivered in that heavenly (and sexy) voice, until they take center stage and kick you in the gut.

I know how much you love the Born To Run era so here's a really special bootleg to celebrate :) This amazing show is from just a couple weeks before the album was released. Bruce's voice is UNBELIEVABLE. And the sound quality is incredibly good for 1975.

Bruce Springsteen played a deeply emotional show the night after John Lennon was murdered.

"It’s a hard night to come out and play tonight when so much’s been lost. The first record that I ever learned was a record called ‘Twist & Shout’. And if it wasn’t for John Lennon, we’d all be in some place very different tonight. It’s an unreasonable world and you have to live with a lot of things that are just unliveable. And it's a hard thing to come out and play but there’s just nothing else you can do."
