STOP bc I have genuinely thought abt this and tried to make it work but I don’t think u can put anyone between brudick without turning them into a prop.
The best I could come up with under the cut:
Brudick is established as already “broken up” (I feel like a break up is not the proper term for what they had going on but you get it) when bruce dies, then dicksteph happens as a friends with benefits type thing while bruce is dead (Dickbats being mean = sexual tension and Steph using sex for control and approval), then bruce comes back and is weird and jealous abt dicksteph but he’s stubborn so instead of talking to dick he sleeps with Steph who is now in a very weird position and doesn’t understand what’s going on. She’s in two casual situationships and neither of them are appropriate or healthy but she’d be lying if she said the validation and false sense of power didn’t feel good. She gets the sense of rlly being in the club when she gets to wear the cowl and sleep with the two founders! (Spoiler is rlly moving up in the world). She almost feels guilty bc she’s not sure if this is technically cheating or not or if she’s supposed to be keeping them a secret from each other (not even getting into the fact that they are her ex’s brother and dad bc Tim is being an estranged asshole rn) but then when bruce keeps leaving bite marks over every hickey dick leaves and they each start scanning her body for new marks under the guise of admiring her, she starts to think maybe this situation isn’t entirely abt her. Bruce is just competitive and jealous and using/manipulating Steph to get at dick, but dick does actually kind of like Steph and thinks the sharing is fun and hot. When Steph puts it together she thinks they’re weird freaks but thinks it’s fun that she’s making them both jealous
Omg wait or alternate version where everything is the same except brudick never happened and it’s always just been unresolved tension so the jealousy and the sharing is the closest they’ve gotten to each other in that way
