Brunch & Munch at G Village, Desa Pandan
Yesterday, after an early breakfast at Tommy Le Baker (review coming up next) and about 2.5 hours of watching The Hunger Games : Mockingjay Part 2, we were feeling hungy at 4pm after attending an event at G Village.
We decided to get a bite at Brunch & Munch on the Ground Floor. The restaurant was pretty empty as it was that odd hour to have lunch between tea time and dinner.
I was pleasantly surprised to see a ‘munch’ menu which was perfect for the hour that we were in. Pretty much nibbles-mode. I wanted to eat but not so much that I’d be full before another dinner appointment at 7pm.
We ordered the baby ribs and the eggs benedict. We were advised to order an extra serving of eggs at RM4- as the dish only comes with one portion of eggs. For drinks, an iced latte and a flat white.
They offer “Ponto Alerge” blend specially roasted by RGB Coffee. However I did feel that my flat white tasted rather watered down. I must say I didn’t really care for the coffee there.
The eggs benedict came served on a light weight wooden serving board. The grilled tomatoes which came with it was to me the star of the dish. Though it maybe just tomatoes, they were well seasoned with salt and pepper and tasted really delicious.
The poached eggs were well cooked to the correct amount of runny consistency atop sautéed spinach and a charcoal muffin which only tasted of egg yolk once drenched in it. I wish they had seasoned the spinach a little more or if the hollandaise sauce had more flavour. Overall a rather bland benedict which had to be accompanied with the tomatoes to save it, which was odd as the bacon was not salty enough to complement the dish. The side salad came with a normal olive oil and balsamic dressing so there’s nothing much to say about that.
I only had a taste of the baby ribs but I did think that taste wise it was more well balanced in flavour compared to my dish.
Summary: I don't mind coming back for the food but I might opt for tea the next time.
