I really enjoyed the writers' decision to make Rutherford and Boimler roommates in seasons four and five. Their friendship was a welcome break from Rutherford being reduced to Tendi's cheerleader/potential love interest

So Boimler talking about having to become Otherford's Tendi is either confirming Rutherford/Tendi as strictly platonic, or heavily implying something queer about Boimler and Rutherford's relationship, right?

I wondered after they gave themselves a couple name when they became roommates in season four. And T'lyn commenting on their "emotional closeness" (though from a Vulcan that probably encompasses a lot more than it does from a human). But mostly just got close platonic friend vibes up till now.
