Today marks the 53rd anniversary of the Zodiac Killer’s terrifying attack on Cecelia Shepard and Bryan Hartnell at Lake Berryessa in Napa County, California. (Despite recent claims, the case still has NOT been solved yet.)
You know, I’m all for fucking with Ted Cruz by calling him the Zodiac Killer, especially if it ends up hurting his chances in this election, ‘cause he kind of sucks.
But I am a little bit concerned about the way it has become a complete and utter joke, as the Zodiac Killer is a very real thing, and has never been found. And not all of his victims died. Two of them lived. Two actual real life human beings out there, who are still alive today.
Two of his victims survived their attacks, and at least one of those two has not been doing well ever since then, as he was stabbed in the head and given brain damage, and completely spiraled downward after that. He’s been in and out of jail since then due to alcoholism and drug use that started due to the attack.
I bet he doesn’t think this is funny at all.
It feels wrong using someone’s assault as a meme.
