McCoy pushes Spock for a reason. He may come across as a fussbudget, but he is highly trained and instinctively aware that Spock must learn to deal with his human side. Every so often, like here, he clears a bit of resistance away.

Tbh, McCoy would probably be the first one to snap and scream “get it together, kids” in a perfect world.
