Poor Lucy :( she deserves so much better than to be a rebound. And if Mike actually took Sandy back…. I worry. Sandy might be sweet, but it’s still a toxic relationship. And now Lucy is gonna get hurt by it again.

Also, yeah. He owes Paulo an apology. He owes all of his “friends” apologies. He’s been acting like everything but a friend.

Mike can't just walk into the classroom and ignore all the people he's been hurting with his shitty behavior like it didn't happen. They all tried to help him in different ways. Lucy got caught up in his whirlwind emotions and helped him through it. And now he's just. Blind to his faults.

ON THE OTHER HAND, in the past when Mike's been gooey over Sandy, he acts all heart eyes and sighs and happiness. Right now he just looks distracted. Absorbed. It makes me wonder if he's really talking to Sandy and, if he is, what they could be talking about.

Obviously one kiss wasn't going to start this friend group on the path to healing. Obviously improving yourself (as Mike needs to) isn't a steady march in the right direction-- there's regressions and fumbles and whathaveyous.

But I REALLY thought something like his dream girl avoiding him for months before revealing she has feelings for someone else would shake Mike's world a bit more.

The COLDEST glare omg Mike wishes he could glare like that. He all pissy for months and mostly he looked like a wet cat (pun intended). Lucy is actually shooting icicles at him and we love to see it.

And I could totally see Genderqueer Lucy! Growing up a tomboy can be a sign of a great many things. 

I spent all day looking for a conversation with Daisy that I SWEAR TO THE GODS happens but I can’t find it XC It was basically Daisy complaining that Lucy gets all the boy’s attention and Lucy countering that she doesn’t even want it. But alas. 

My point there is that being so outwardly pretty and alluring without meaning to might lead Lucy to distance herself from being seen as a girl, and maybe she would explore gender a bit more in general.

If I could, I’d punch Mike in the face. He used Lucy AGAIN. and now that Sandy is sorry and wants to try harder, he’s suddenly with her again after telling Lucy that they “broke up and it’s over” and once again, he hurts Lucy and their friends seem oblivious to her pain. I’m honestly beginning to not like Mike.

Mike got (rightfully) upset that his girlfriend had feelings (looking back, she actually literally says 'I really love him') for another guy. And then, when he thought they were broken up, Mike kissed another girl! Wonder if THAT came up in their little talk! DOUBT!!!

I mean. If it were anyone else, I'd champion communication and trying to make a relationship work by being honest and making compromises. But this, the long distance and insecurity, really doesn't seem to be working for them. And Mike is making it everyone's problem.

To be clear, I'm not in the "Mike and Lucy should be together" camp. I'm in the "Mike needs to own up to how horrible he's treating his friends" camp. Wonder how Paulo felt seeing him walk in all smiles like that after how Mike was on the phone with him the night before?

Actually, changed my mind, I'm in the "If Mike and Sandy are really texting right now then Paulo needs to take Mike's phone in the next page and text Sandy about how much she's fucking up their friend group".

To be perfectly honest, I'm really not sure what Mike sees in Sandy. Or what Sandy sees in Mike. They don't have a lot in common, meeting each other is really hard, her work keeps her flying off around the world and keeping odd hours, and even when they DO hang out it seems stressful on all parties.

So like... why is Mike so determined to make this work? Is he in love with the Sandy in knew as a kid? Is he afraid the drama with Lucy will be all for nothing if they break up?

Sandy herself said "why fix something that's so broken" and frankly I agree.

HI HAVE YOU SEEN THE LATEST BCB??!! I’m so happy that they actually seem to be talking. Don’t get me wrong, Mike has a lot of apologies to hand out, but I’m glad that he and Lucy are talking without hitting or insulting each other.

It's soooo good to see them not glaring at one another or being pissed at something. Like, I've been sour on Mike for a while but just last update when she first tells him to hit the tree-- I realized how much I miss them. Mike has a truck load of apologizes to make to half the freaking school, you are completely correct. But this page just ;;_;;

Man, I wanna read back through the volumes now. I have all of them. I just wanna sit and read Good Times.
