Y’all know good and well there was no way I couldn’t put together a #Bestof2022 list without highlighting my family at @blackstarfest. From starting the year as one of the set photographers for the 4 films (@ourikafilm, @bigthreefilm, The Love Machine and Tonight, We Eat Flowers) created during the Philadelphia Filmmaker Lab (remind me to update my #IMDB page) to photographing my 6th festival alongside @mochionfilm (we need a pic together!), Aiden, @shaquanbattle and Solomon, this year was another highlight filled with great energy, beautiful spirits and inspiration. #blackstarfilmfestival #bsff22 #filmmakers #sundanceisthewhiteblackstar (at BlackStar Film Festival) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cm0GhsyLqmJ/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

One of my highlights this year was having the opportunity to contribute set photography and video to the 4 films debuting as part of @blackstarfest’s Philadelphia Filmmaker Lab. All 4 films are amazing, and I am happy I got the chance to watch them in their entirety. Major congratulations to @julianxturner @be_slingsandarrows @jasminelynea_ @glassdick and their casts and crews for creating these masterpieces with @allagesproductions. Seeing all your elation post screening is definitely one of my festival highlights. Another incredible year with the amazing team at @blackstarfest in the books. This has been my 6th time photographing BlackStar and it’s been inspiring seeing it grow, change with the times, and continue to show why they’re one of the most loved organizations in film and culture. Much love to the people who have shown me love since day 1 in 2017, to the new attendees that I met and staff I worked with this year (also, @mochionfilm you are a beast! 📷). #TBT I figured today was as good as any to share some of my favorite memories/photos from @blackstarfest #BSFF21.
