I felt so empowered and ready to be a social worker while I was in school. But when I graduated with my BSW and started the job search I feel like I made the wrong choice in a degree. Everyone wants an MSW, LCSW. I'm macro focused and have no intention of being a counselor even when I get my masters. And here I am with a bachelors, trying to work in the field for a year or two before I go to grad school, unable to find employment that pays decently and wants someone with just a BSW. It's honestly making me rethink getting an MSW. I'm probably going to be stuck doing bartending or some other mind numbing job I can't stand until grad school.
