I have been waiting to make these figs until I was able to get the head for Thanoth, and now that I finally have it, I'm happy with how they all turned out. I know triple zero is black, but I didn't have the right protocol droid head. I still wanted him to be included so I made him silver instead, which also let me match his finger weapons to the rest of his body

Painted the new Imhotekh figure finally! Was pretty lukewarm on it when it got released, but seeing it directly compared to the old resin model really changed my mind and I quite like it now.

Also saw 0-0-0 and BT-1 when I was out and got them too. Have never done any Star Wars figures before, but they’re my favourite droids so I couldn’t resist. Pretty challenging just cause of the size of the models, but still very fun!

Doctor Aphra, Triple Zero, and BT-1

HERE’S WHY I LOVE THE STAR WARS COMICS:  This was a legitimately hilarious moment, these murder droids are such assholes and not actually secretly nice or whatever, so having Triple Zero sing-song about a LOOOOOOOPHOOOOOOLE down the hallway, just because he’s irritated about not getting to do any real violence in far too long, that was already pretty delightful. And then it got to that page, that wasn’t who I was expecting at all, and it legitimately had impact to see DARTH FUCKING VADER pop up and realize that’s who they were calling, that I may make fun of Anakin a lot, but he is genuinely a terrifying murderous nightmare that would kill anyone who got in his way because he’s so smothered down any spark of humanity he can find in himself. This is why I love reading the comics, that I’m having a good time with Aphra over here on her own, doing her thing in her own book, knowing that she’s halfway on the run from Vader because she knows more than he’d like her to, and then, WHAM, there he is, and SHE REALLY COULD DIE, VADER REALLY WOULD KILL HER.  This guy really did kill Obi-Wan, this guy really did try to murder Ahsoka, this guy really did enslave entire worlds, this guy really did cut off his son’s hand even when he didn’t need to, this guy really did murder Jedi who begged him for help, this guy really did murder actual children.  He really would murder her. AND THE COMIC USED THAT REALLY WELL IN THIS MOMENT, Vader is at his most terrifying when seen through the eyes of others, in brief glimpses (spend too much time with him, even through others’ eyes, and you can’t help remembering what a disaster garbage bag he is) and this was spot on to this moment and just THIS IS WHY I LOVE THE COMICS, BECAUSE THEY GIVE ME THAT JOLT FEELING, WHEN I HAVE AN AMAZING “O SHIT--!” REACTION.  THIS IS WHY THE MOVIES ARE GREAT BUT EVERYONE SHOULD PLEASE COME READ THE COMICS WITH ME, TOO.
