Local trainwreck getting out of a speeding ticket.
Braless up for Patrons
In my rewrite the werewolf wedding gets started a little differently. Most importantly, the gang don’t get turned into meifwa.
It just always felt a little weird to me. There doesn’t seem to be any actual lore connections between the werewolves and meifwas, beyond a surface level “tee hee cats vs dogs”, and with meifwas solidly confirmed to be a minority racial group in this setting, it felt extremely off to me to have human characters turn into them for the sake of cute cat ears and tails.
In my rewrite, Fenrir’s tribe instead has a prophecy about a union between one “touched by the sun” and one “touched by the moon” which I think plays a lot better with the duality theme of the werewolves. Fenrir is considered touched by the sun due to his albanism, and Aph slots into being touched by the moon because of her birthmark but it would also work well for rebirth Aphmau with her crescent shaped markings. Which is a big hint that the whole prophecy is bullshit, because Aph is the most sun-coded person that’s ever walked the earth.
I really like making Fenrir a parallel to Garroth if he had never left O’Khasis. Especially cause Aph is missing him a lot at that point. He is kind but ultimately cowardly, and isn’t able to defy his father even when he knows what he’s doing is wrong. If he had been braver, he could’ve helped them escape, and they would have made sure Abby was safe. Instead, he watched his tribe be decimated by Laurance, setting him down a dark path of revenge.
Okay, probably last thing for the TrollsxAphmau designs I’ll do for a while. This time around, my Zoeymau QPR family
Aph: Redesigned her slightly because in the first drawing of her I wasn’t doing a ton of troll headcanons, but now I absolutely do. I’ve decided I want the classical trolls to be bird-like. Aph’s wings don’t work though, so they hang down more like a cape.
Levin: Country funk (Garroth being a country troll and Matilda being a funk troll) hybrid. Basically an alpaca centaur, I love him so much
Malachi: Pop troll, originally Aph found him mostly crystallized and drained of his talent. His connection to the family has strengthened him somewhat, but he still has to limit his singing, and is constantly bundled up to keep warm.
Zoey: Funk troll. I thought her design would be ugly but it actually came together super well. Then the colors, which I thought would be easy, were the thing that actually gave me a lot of trouble lol.
Aphra, Qi'ra, and a new fic
Good morning everyone. Happy Star Wars Day! I thought I'd share my latest fic, originally published on another site on Sapphic Visibility Day, but revised and improved for you all. It brings together two iconic characters: Doctor Aphra and Qi'ra. There is flirting, queer themes (and queer characters), implied/referenced sex, unresolved romantic tension, theft (to come), manipulation, manipulative relationships, and more.
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Here's the summary, which hopefully piques your interest:
Qi'ra prepares for meeting a notorious rogue and renegade who steals from sealed archives, floating prisons, and almost-impossible-to-access caves, selling the artifacts to the highest bidder to earn some cash for herself. Thanks to her informants, she has a strategy in mind to ensure that this woman, who can be described as nothing short of an interstellar disaster, will work for her and do what she wants. She sees this as one of the many ways to bring down the Galactic Empire. At the same time, she plans to offer this woman something she can't, and won't, refuse, something she will not turn down, considering her dalliances with other women…
Hope you all like it!
Very accurate deciption of how my mc felt while meeting Qiu for the 1st time
Aphra says she loves it when Vader says he rules [from A New Legacy #1 "Rogue's Gambit"]
I've probably talked abt this before, and I can't go fully into depth rn bc I really need to like. Eat breakfast. But Aphra ajshfjejsjf
Like just. The way that her fatal flaw I feel isn't her egoism or greed or impulsivity or fear of commitment or lack of consistent morals. Her fatal flaw is her belief that she can't change any of those things. She's convinced herself that she's incapable of change or improvement in order to absolve herself of the guilt stemming from her awful actions. She's so certain that she's unfixably bad + doomed to die alone that she rarely tries to actually become better or genuinely connect and stay with those around her.
And part of the problem is these beliefs are reinforced by the people around her, for various reasons (especially in her 2016 run). Sana told her something like "its not your fault you were born broken" or smthg, bc Sana also wasn't ready to reckon with the fact that Aphra has free will but used it to hurt her. Triple Zero for a while keeps trying to make aphra believe she is like him (very evil and cruel) bc he wants another friend in his evilness. Even as a kid, Aphra's mom told her that some people(specifically referring to Aphra's father) are just "wired different" and are so fixated on specific things and end up bringing down trouble on themselves and everyone around them. All these things and potentially more I've forgotten keep reinforcing to Aphra that she's stuck the way she is, that there is no point making the effort to change, and that everyone who loves her will just need to overlook her problems instead of trying to help or excepting better.
Basically Aphra's issue is she needs to take ownership of her actions and the harm she's caused and acknowledge that she is capable of being better. And then there's the whole exteemely difficult mess of actually wanting and trying to do better. But yeah, she needs to know she's capable of it to even start.
