More birdtale headcanons, please? I like bird men:D

An excellent choice, if I do say so myself. Since you’re a fan of the bird boys, I’ll give you some more bird-like spicy facts:

Birdtale monsters, like many others, go through a type of heat from time to time. It just presents in slightly different ways and happens most often during the early spring months.

Birdtale Sans- He’s allll about comfort when his heat; that nesting instinct kicks in HARD. Not only will he make his bed a strategic compilation of pillows and blankets, he’ll actually clean the house?? You wouldn’t catch Crow dead doing dishes most of the time, so it’s pretty easy to spot when his heat is starting to ramp up.

Once it starts fully, he barely wants to leave his bed and more importantly, he doesn’t want his partner to leave it either. He’ll do just about anything he can to get them to stay and let him lazily fuck them all day. Crow will cuddle up with his partner while he lays on his side and just slowly move his hips. You’d think there’s no way that would actually be enough to get him off, but heat is a hell of a thing. The best thing his lover can do for him during all this is to ride him, especially if they want to have any time alone during his heat. If he gets off hard enough, he’ll sleep for a few hours.

Birdtale Papyrus- You would be shocked at how good Magpie is at lying during his heats. What heats? He’s not in heat! Why would you say that?

Magpie has an aversion to anyone knowing he’s in a heat cycle, or even that he has one. Unfortunately, he still has the same wants and needs that come with such a thing. His feathers get more shiny (whether that’s natural or because he preens them more is up for debate) and he over-buys groceries in the days leading up. Over the years he’s noticed that about himself and will focus on buying long-lasting food to sate that particular instinct. His cooking also gets more complex and he’ll prep more food than really necessary.

When the actual heat part of the heat kicks in, Magpie really tries not to be obvious or desperate, but when he fucks the daylight out of his partner, cleans up and showers, then still comes back 20 minutes later to ask for more, it’s kind of obvious. A partner can either play along and pretend that him wanting to jump them multiple times a day is normal, or they can say they figured it out. If they choose the latter, Magpie will be unhappy, even trying to hold himself back from doing anything sexual, but he eventually breaks. He doesn’t like not having control of his own decisions and heats forcing him to feel a certain way is always a struggle.

His partner will need to work with him a little bit to find a system for his heats that doesn’t make him feel like he’s out of control. This likely involves having a conversion while he’s not in heat… but he’ll claim he doesn’t have heats and doesn’t want to talk about it.

Birdtale Gaster- Rook’s wings are already sensitive on any other day, but a heat has him nervous about even brushing against something accidentally. You could literally get him off just by touching his wings if you have a little patience. A partner can tell his heat is coming because he’ll subconsciously spread his wings wider when they get near him.

It’s probably not too much of a surprise that his heats are submissive, considering he’s rarely one to take the lead anyway. The problem is that he’s also not great at articulating exactly what he wants during a heat. The average monster is usually pretty shameless about it, considering they’re basically biologically wired to be too horny to care, but Rook still cares quite a bit during his heats. He’ll stutter, and stammer, and fidget like crazy if his partner doesn’t do something to him. Once they know to just get down to business when Rook’s heat starts, he’s much less nervous about it—especially if they get his wings involved right away.

Birdtale Grilllby- Phoenix gets a bit of a breeding kink during his heats. That’s not exactly uncommon, but a lot of monsters’ kinks don’t change at all during heats, although they may amplify. That’s not the case for Phoenix. Dirty talk about breeding his partner doesn’t usually do it for him, but once his heat starts to kick in, he loves it.

Being a fire elemental, his heats are also more severe than most subspecies of monster. Usually, Nix doesn’t even want his partner doing anything to him during sex, preferring to please them instead. His pants even stay on usually, but during a heat, he not taking his pants off will just get them ruined. All he wants is to fuck (or get fucked—a partner can turn that breeding kink back on him if they try) and he’ll be sure to make that known. Thankfully for him, he also burns out quickly, so his heats don’t last very long. A day or two at most.

I had brought a "sand art lamp" as my secret santa gift.

Hopefully whoever it is will think it's interesting and/or soothing to watch after a long day.

The monster you match with for the gift swap literally comes from the sky. A rather tall skeleton with large black wings lands in front of you.

“Hello! I believe your ticket for this ‘secret santa’ thing matches mine? Which means that this-”

He holds up a small, neatly packaged box wrapped in newspaper.

“-is for you!”

Opening the gift, you find a small booklet with pages of pressed flowers and lines for writing. It’s a handmade journal!

Rook wastes no time in opening his gift as well and is clearly enamored by the falling sand.

Coming directly from your birdswap papyrus/reader fic lol and brainrotting over the wing kink possibilities; which of your birdtale/birdswap would be most into wing play? I imagine wings as being pretty delicate and there'd be a bit of vulnerability in having them touched. love this au so much!!

Now you’ve got me thinking of all the wing things that could happen, so here’s some food for thought! Also ignore typos im not going back to spellcheck all this lmfao

In the Birdtale and Birdswap universes, enjoying having their wings touched during intimacy is too common to really be considered a kink! Wings are considered to be representative of a monster’s self, in a similar (but much less weighty) way to a monster’s soul, so intimately touching a partners wings is significant, on par with kissing for the first time. Hookups and one-night-stands typically avoid the wings, unless it’s previously agreed upon.

Wings being integral in the bedroom so common that it’s just part of the whole experience for most monsters, although there are some kinks in those universes that revolve around a monsters wings, such as:

-Having their wings secured/tied up. This could be classic bondage with something like rope or via the less common feather “pinning” in which a monster’s wings are spread flat to allow their outermost feathers to be tacked down. This both restricts their movements and leaves the underside of their wings wide open for a partner to play with. This is a rare one though, and many monsters would hate the thought of it.

-Allowing a partner to clip their flight feathers. This is a form of control play, as having clipped wings is very rare and considered cruel/demeaning even though it doesn’t actually cause pain. This particular kink is considered extreme/indecent if the monster goes out in public with clipped feathers. It’s also possible to just trim a few of the feathers, which can be easily hidden.

-Plucking. This is pain play, which also feeds into the concept of letting a partner take their their ability to fly, which you’ll notice is a common theme for fantasies in bird-variant universes. Of course, plenty of monster enjoy being the one pulling the feathers.

-Preening. This isn’t always a kink, as many bird monsters have the instinct to keep their partner tidy and well-kempt in general, but some monsters are just really into it. A non-monster (or just non-winged) s/o learning to preen their lover’s feathers can be a real turn on for the bird monster in question! Helping out with hard-to-reach pin feathers can be quite intimate.

Now, as far as specifics for my Birdtale and Birdswap monsters~

Birdtale Sans- Crow is actually less into having his wings touched than most monsters. They’re still sensitive in the right context, but outside of intimacy, he doesn’t get turned on by having them touched. His axillary feathers are ticklish though! So if you want to be playful and get him to chase you there’s that.

Birdtale Papyrus- Magpie likes having his wings touched as much as any other monster, but he really likes touching a partner’s wings! This does pose a bit of a problem should he date a human or monster who doesn’t have wings… but if a non-winged partner were to buy some realistic fake wings to wear for him, he’d hardly know what to do with himself!

Birdtale Gaster- This poor guy has the most sensitive wings of the bunch. Inside feathers, outside feathers—doesn’t matter. A quick bump or brush against them is fine, but having someone stroke his feathers is a quick way to get Rook worked up. The very base of this wings—where they connect to his back—is the most sensitive and having a partner dig their fingers in between the soft, downy feathers could almost get him off on its own.

Birdtale Grillby- It’s been mentioned before that Phoenix prefers to please his partner instead of having them touch him so keep that in mind. He likes to see his partner all lit up while he gets them off, and often surrounds them with his wings to get a nice, well-lit view. There’s definitely a bit of “only I get to see you like this” intention in there too, as his wings can’t be seen through.

Birdswap Sans- Kestrel really isn’t super comfortable with his wings being touched. They’re too important to him! Everything he does, everything he is… if he had no wings who would he even be? That’s a scary thought for him. Having a partner touch his wings during sex wouldn’t be hot and heavy, it would be gentle and sweet—which is a far cry from his usual bedroom habits. It takes something significant to get Kestrel to slow down for anything, and he’ll be stock still the first time his partner really puts their hands on his wings.

Birdswap Papyrus- Rufous has wing envy, and that’s just a fact. One he tries to deny, but he has hummingbird wings! Proportionally, his wings are really small and even though no one really says anything about it, it’s always kind of in the back of his mind. All that to say: he’d be majorly turned on by a partner raving about him wings and how much they love them. He’s wants his s/o to think his wings are hot! and cool!

Birdswap Gaster- Tyto gets off on partners preening his feathers for him. His wings aren’t really any more sensitive than average, but if it’s his s/o touching them then he’s all about it. Having them mess with his flight feathers at all is a big “yes” for him, although he’d never go so far as to let them cut them—if only because he couldn’t go out in public if they did.

Birdswap Grillby- Oh, his wings are on full display for his partner. There’s a reason his bedroom is huge—and it’s not just because he has 3 walk-in closets—Sunny spreads his wings to put on a show for his partner. He’ll also occasionally put little clips or charms on his feathers to match his lingerie, but even without those he wants his wings to be open and completely exposed. He’s definitely had his wings pinned open at least once.

This journal is my first attempt as such a thing, usually I simply frame them,” Rook says happily. “And I don’t mind that this isn’t homemade, it’s lovely! I’ve never seen something quite like it, I think I’ll be putting it on my desk.”

what d&d classes would the birdtale boys be?

Crow is 1000% a bard. With his ability to mimic voices, he’s incredibly proficient in performance and deception in particular. Once you add in magic to change his appearance and charm others, he can win any fight before it even starts.

Magpie is a druid. You’ll find him talking with anything from a robin to an owlbear with no fear whatsoever. He’s not really one for picking fights, but if you attack him, you’ll find out that he’s got a forest full of animal friends prepared to defend him.

Rook is a combination of wizard and ranger. He spends a lot of time out in the wilds analyzing and researching plants and magical ingredients. Rook has a talent for crafting cures and elixirs, despite the fact that he’s hardly ever home to actually sell them.

what if the brothers Underfell and Birdtale were trapped in scp 3008 (ikea)???

I just read the entry for scp-3008 and that’s actually terrifying as a concept lol

To answer the question though, they probably wouldn’t realize the situation for a while. Once they saw the “employees” though, they would be shortcutting out of there. Red, Grawlix, Crow, and Rook can all shortcut safely out of the building, and they would take Magpie and Edge with.

If Edge and Magpie were alone however, it would be different. Edge alone would be able to find his way out with minor difficulty, fighting off any instances of scp-3008-2 with relative ease. Magpie would be more freaked out, but can cover much greater distances via flight and could find the exit while avoiding any danger.

Safe to say none of them would be going to any Ikea EVER again.

Unlikely friendships that somehow happened anyway!

Rook and Grawlix (and Dagger): Grawlix is a bad influence on Rook, especially when Dagger is present. They encourage Rook’s more chaotic side. At first it was just to see what stupid stuff Rook would do if given the chance, but Rook took it as genuine friendship. Now Grawlix is attached too.

Mal and Edge: It might not seem that surprising that these two get along, but Mal almost killed Edge when they first met. No one questions Mal’s place as a captain! They don’t really get along until Dyre and Alli get sick of their constant bickering and force them to hang out. (Classic Undyne gave them the idea)

Rus and Rufous: These two immediately clicked as friends, despite seemingly opposite personalities. Rus is more confident, albeit more awkward, and Rufous is anxious, but charismatic once he opens up. They bond over a love of art and video games, with Rus bringing Rufous out of his shell. Now that they’re friends, Rufous drags him off on hikes and nature trails, which Mal wholeheartedly supports. Rus isn’t really used to that level of activity yet, so usually they only make it about halfway.

Wraith and Mech: A monster who produces too much magic and a monster who doesn’t produce enough. They started spending time together more out of necessity than anything else, but they’ve grown to enjoy the company too. They talk about hypothetical machines and the workings of the Void and anti-magic, like the Wasteland. It’s a calming experience for both of them.

Scythe and Sans: The fact that Scythe is getting along with any version of his brother is a miracle in itself. Sans eventually got Chip to tell him what happened between them (Scythe refused to talk to him, because he’s a sans) and he immediately ditched Chip to find Scythe. The change in attitude even surprised Papyrus when Sans cut contact with Chip and invited Scythe to live with them. Of course, Scythe said no, but Sans is a patient guy. He’s still not on Scythe’s good side, but he’s reached neutral, so Scythe tolerates him. Sans doesn’t mind having another little brother to look out for, even if Scythe doesn’t see him as family yet.

Underswap Papyrus- “pff, you having fun? don’t suppose there’s room for one more?”

Even if there isn’t room for one more, Bee would like to be part of the burrito. He’ll get another blanket to add to it if need be. They just look so cozy!

Underswap Sans- “OH! A CLASSIC BLANKET BURRITO!”

Oh, Blue has jokes for this. Or rather, one singular joke that he will play out for as long as his friend is laughing. He’s going to critique the burrito as though he is the judge on a cooking show. How are the ‘ingredients’? (Aka the person in the blanket cocoon) How well wrapped is the burrito? Clearly this burrito is not professionally made! So of course now he has to fix it, because obviously this is a very serious violation of the Blanket Burrito Code, which is very real and definitely not something he made up just now.

His antics include (but are not limited to) re-wrapping them in a new, even softer blanket, bringing them snacks, and laying on top of them. Blue has a lot of fun with this.

Underswap Gaster- “Star’s sake, what is it with everyone and these… blanket cocoons?”

It’s now up to his friend (or S/o) to show him the wonderful world of being completely wrapped up in a blanket just for the sake of being, well, completely wrapped up in a blanket. Good luck though, because his brothers have been trying to explain the joy of blanket burritos for a very long time and he just doesn’t get it.

Birdtale Papyrus- He just shakes his head and leaves them be. He lives with Crow, so this is nothing unusual. That isn’t to say that Crow is often wrapped in blankets, although that’s also true, but rather that Crow is so random that nothing can phase Magpie anymore.

Birdtale Sans- Nest? Blanket nest? S/o has activated the birb part of his brain(?) and Crow is very quick to point out that one single blanket does not make a good nest. He can’t stop himself from starting to ‘fix’ the ‘nest’ which is essentially just upgrading S/o from a burrito to a blanket fort. It’s very cozy. Probably not at all what S/o intended, but cozy.

Birdtale Gaster- Like Bee, Rook is immediately struck by how comfy the burrito looks. Sadly, wrapping his wings in a blanket can press his feathers at odd angles, so it’s not the best idea for him. So he settles for the next best thing! He wraps the already-existing burrito in his wings. The blanket will probably get too warm rather quickly, but it’s nice while it lasts.
