How are you doing? (hope you are having a great day.)
I’m sorry my reply took so long: my body viciously betrayed me and inflamed my salivary gland. Sounds ridiculous, I know, but hurt like a bitch.
Words cannot describe how moved I was by your reply. I kid you not, it took me maybe half an hour to read it cause after each couple of sentences I stopped to screech (internally, since I was at work). It is so so incredibly thoughtful that I literally do not know what to say to convey my feelings properly.
Let’s start simple: thank you so so much! You almost made me tear up a little and it's not an easy fit, let me tell you. Your words mean a lot to me.
I, of course, showed your reply to my amazing teammates and they are also overjoyed and all kinds of bashful about it. We continue to work on translation now, since I'm fine already, so I hope that we'll publish 11th chapter next week, if everything goes according to plan.
Our mental health is... well, better than could be expected, I suppose. Almost all of us are from Kharkiv, which is... errr... rather close to russia, so we feel the war rather strongly. I know how it sounds, but we kinda got used to it after all this time. But even though it is nothing more than our new reality right now, it still affects us. Of course it is. And we weren't the mentally healthiest people to begin with, to be honest. But we do what we can: therapy and meds and such.
Still, I appreciate your well-wishes a lot, thank you. Hope you, too, are doing good and if for some reason not, then I wish you all the incredible things there are. And most of all, the mental reprieve and calm if it is needed.
Allow me to extend wishes of muse visitations to you also. I take it you experience burnout (based on one of your recent replies)? If so, I'm very sorry and can only wish for it to be over as soon as possible. Burnout is a bitch of colossal proportions.
I will try to update you on our progress more frequently than I have before. Maybe share with you some funny Ukrainian language trivia, if you would be interested.
I also have a question, if you don't mind me asking. What are your favourite books? I was always curious.
Hi again, my dear @demonofkarma!💜
I hope my response finds you in better health! Ouch! An inflamed salivary gland? Yeah, that sounds most unpleasant. Really hope you’re healing up fast.
Aww, I’m so chuffed to learn that my message reduced you to the same floundering state I was in when I attempted to respond to you. All’s fair now, my dear!
Seriously though, I have so much gratitude for you and your precious team. Thank you again, from the boundless depths of my happy writer’s heart.🫶🏼
God…that same heart goes out to you and yours during this awful time. There’s nothing I could possibly say that wouldn’t sound pig ignorant or insipid given what you’re all going through. Just know that my prayers and very best wishes are with you all as you navigate, survive, and endure this horrible and deeply scary and unsettling time.

Thank you, sweetie. Oh yes indeed, burnout is a Cerberus-shaped helldog with no leash to speak of. I will bring the bastard hell-pup to heel at some point. In the meantime, I really appreciate your kind wishes.

Aw! That’s so sweet, but please know there’s no rush or pressure. I'd hate for you to feel obliged. I’m just amazed you guys have the capacity for it given your situation. And oh ho! Yes! I would love for you to share some funny Ukrainian language trivia! Feel free to shoot that my way whenever you like, luv.
I also have a question, if you don't mind me asking. What are your favourite books? I was always curious.
Oh wow, do you mean fiction? Fiction-wise, I haven’t read much recently because work has got me inundated with soooo much non-fiction that my brain is going to start melting out of my ears. That said, reflecting on books I’ve enjoyed....off the top of my head there’s Frankenstein by Mary Shelly, The Client by John Grisham, His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman, the Troy series by David Gemmel, most things by Shakespeare, Memoirs of Geisha by Arthur Golden…and argghhh there are so many more but my brain is hot and noisy static right now! 🫠
Thank you very, very muchly for all the love and support. Sending hearts, hugs, and best wishes to you and your team! 💗🤗💗
