i noticed that as well, and it wasn’t the only time. i could never wrap my head around how they are the odd ones out. mind you, beside that jk was only almost-18 at this point which makes the whole mv idea even more terribly questionable. that aside, i falsely assumed, maybe they don’t like girls. compared to tae/hobi they seemed almost reluctant. wrong conclusion, psychology fail. i didn’t count 1 & 1 together. come on… they’re the ones in BTS with older brothers known to have a strong bond with them.
jin also has an older brother but they aren’t as openly (!) involved, plus jin’s brother is inseparable with his gf so he’s preoccupied. meanwhile, jk and yoongi associate plenty with their siblings, lot of history. e.g. geumjae takes care of holly, they hang out, he cooks for yoongi. junghyun famously documented bts’ meme moments and unequivocally adores jk, they do family outings. so you can tell what lateral surrounding that is while growing up.

figures. it’s how they’re less secure dealing with girls and have a different kind of respect. guess why jk has so many female celebrity crushes and yoongi collabs with women every opportunity he gets. all deliberate ways of catching up within the constraints of their fame. especially yoongi gets active and is conscious of how he has to compensate in this area. he went to a boys-only school, there’s a reason why the yearning in his lyrics hits you.
yoongi and kook entered idolhood and the dating ban at an odd point age-wise so it makes sense jk had a sweat attack and yoongi’s esteem crumbled during that AHL video shoot :’) bighit has no female trainees so it’s not sm entertainment either. if you are the younger brother, the stakes are high when there’s finally girls around. to flirt with, on top of that. performance anxiety. cuz it’s unfamilar territory. and it’s different up close than with fans.
if you had sisters around and a good relationship with them, your curiosity won’t drive you as much and you’ll be at ease. your sister will likely have female friends too so double whammy, it’s normal to you as an environment. warren g said hoseok is the best at interacting with girls. guess who is bts’ mama’s boy (hey mama ♥︎🎶) and associates the most with his older sis:
dawon is known to the fandom and the group because they hang rather often. he’s used to all that. you can tell that they are a dream team. meanwhile jk and yoongi tend to be the most reclusive and flock to either joon or hoseok. because older brother pattern, and they are both sister-approved™. remember, joonie has a sis as well. so— it’s pretty obvious why jk and yoongi are the ones to get shy and flustered and aren’t naturals with girls, it’s not just a character trait 😄 it all boils down to family habits. we can’t know the details, but the simple setup of siblings already tells you a lot.
