don't let HYBE greenwash their activity, especially not with one Cortis song.
one of their largest investors is the social security administration there- the National Pension Service- responsible for retirement and military pension and funding. They never fired/let go of Scooter and he never quit, so they're still open to funnel finance directly to the bombardment of Palestine (etc) whenever they choose. They're funded by Blackrock and Vanguard, investment firm monopolies that fund weapons manufacturing and have a habit of buying up land with people already living there to bulldoze and rebuild into factories, high cost rentable apartments, and data centers. HYBE directly pays multiple AI investment and game investment firms, despite the water their data centers make toxic and the massive amounts of air pollution and greenhouse gasses that come out of there.
the lyrics of that fashion song do not reflect ANY environmental actions or ideologies of anyone at HYBE/bighit. Purchasing from temu or shein is not a "budget friendly, eco friendly" alternative.
Look up how old the people mining coltan, cobalt, and copper are in Congo. That's where these electronic resources come from.
It's a good message, but it's COMPLETELY dishonest to be coming from a hybe label.
all the underlines are sources. i don't wanna see more people get tricked by this music video. in no way is this post exhaustive and it doesn't make all the connections it possibly could, but this should give you the basics of why they'd want to start promoting themselves as an "eco friendly brand"
i knew there was gonna be a wave of people who've never involved themselves in fandom, who don't know anything about shipping or fanart or why it happens, etc to be posting for the first time ever now that BTS is back, but i'm gonna need you guys to realize how many marginalized people are here. in this fandom. have been here for years. do we have more "importance" than you because of seniority? no
but we've grown up during different eras of the internet. most of us grew up when "youtuber" and "idol" had JUST become viable job options, when we didn't have realistic expectations of those jobs NOR WHO DOES THEM. we were young and gay and marginalized and SO much of this community isn't/ wasn't white like i am-
the reason we wrote fanfiction was to play parody. we didn't KNOW that back then- but there's something extremely appealing in the idea of thousands or hundreds of thousands of people agreeing "someone deserves to love me." we play with our celebrities like dolls because we don't get the agency to enact those ideas in real life with our own bodies- double that with the death of third spaces.
the goal is not to convince two strangers (to us or potentially to eachother) to date, even though them dating might be an EXTREMELY VALIDATING feeling for people in their audience. it's the thrill of researching a mystery and hoping one day we will get an answer that says "you were right, your queerness is not made up or fictional, you're rewarded and validated for begging people to love eachother"
it sucks, it's so easy to cross boundaries, and it hurts people, but it's a pretty understandable outcome of how modern communities work and how little autonomy and agency the average person has- and you have less than you think you do. (technically. don't ever let anyone else own your body or self, or your perception of those things)
it’s sad how yoongi /still/ apologizes five times for something that only ever hurt him in the end. whereas highly dangerous idols that actively, viscerally harm others over and over - even after huge trials and proof of guilt - neither get what they deserve nor truly ever make amends. classic anti-social legislation and cultural mores that protect abusers like rapists and bullies while refusing help to those needing it (who picked yoongi off the ground? who drove him home? nobody). it’s. totally. out. of. proportion. gloatingly throwing bangtan under the bus in the process. funnily enough masses of people discovered yoongi because of the media storm, found out that he’s a sweet guy who owns up to his mistakes & now stan him/bts so who’s the winner now.
hybe. never mess with the exposure again. another thing i want to be done with post-enlistment is white washing, and that goes for everyone. paleness does not change someone's value as a person.
Since Jin spoke about bts group active in his recent event, what kind of content do you think we will get and around which time?
Imo I picture their group comeback around the end of October maybe starting with a single, then album, tour announcement for 2026 and for sure I expect to see them at MAMA with a huge performance comeback! Another alternative is that they will follow the same path of MOTS7 era by posting the tour dates around December and making the comeback on January-Febraury
I also expect to see suchwita S2 and maybe run BTS even shooted without Jin and Hobi or a similar content like are you sure but with the whole maknae line. I'm dying to see in the soop s.3 but considering the timing I think it's highly improbable unless they shoot it in September
Can't wait! 🙈
Next month at this hour I’ll be probably freaking out for tannies sighting at Hobi’s concert
Bts comes back in a month...I can feel the crazy [positive] seeping back into my blood
