Summary: inspired by this: p0rn (This is a small part of a larger fic that only lives in my head now: the history of Jungkook’s first experiences with all his hyungs.)
Jungkook has been doing a lot with Hobi and Jimin. Recently, they invited Yoongi into the mix, and Jungkook is disappointed with how hesitant Yoongi was and how he was holding back. Jungkook knows it's because Yoongi still sees him as a kid in many ways. He’s going to make sure Yoongi knows otherwise.

“What?” Yoongi looks at Jungkook. He mimics Jungkook’s pout, which no sooner morphs into a shit-eating grin.
“You know what,” Jungkook pouts, lifting the remote to shut off the TV. He’s exasperated with Yoongi’s supposed ignorance, inching closer to him on the couch.
“I don’t,” Yoongi coos, leaning in. “Tell me.”
Jungkook looks down and pensively rubs his arm. “Why don’t you want me to touch you?”
The insecurity bleeds out in Jungkook’s voice more than he wants.
Even worse, it KILLS Yoongi. He intended to tease Jungkook, but giving the impression he didn’t want his touch wasn’t the intention. He keeps up his play anyway.

Jungkook takes a thoughtful pause before straddling Yoongi’s lap. He places his hands on either of Yoongi’s shoulders and swings his legs over Yoongi’s thighs.

he becomes hyperfixated on the possibility of something happening, breaking his own heart with the hypothetical social ostracization that his imagination imposes on him. he’ll get side-tracked, sometimes for days on end, wondering if each interaction with those closest to him is merely a facade. like one of his colleagues is waiting to catch him out for not being as confident and charming as he seems. as though all it will take for namjoon to bolt, flee, and disavow him is a simple as a blemish on his skin.
namjoon, oh, he’s so gentle when he sees the panic lurking in his eyes.
when they were younger, fresher, newer, namjoon would roll his eyes and brush it off. namjoon had, still has, his own baggage. when seokjin is in the right frame of mind, he takes care of him, does his best to smooth over namjoon’s scars and kiss the ones too deep to heal.
namjoon has grown in their time together. each passing minute sows trust and confidence in their foundation; each brush with seokjin’s fears tests namjoon’s maturity and commitment.
today, it takes two tense minutes at breakfast for namjoon to get his fingers on the pulse of what’s bothering seokjin. seokjin spills each of the diverging threads of fear, and namjoon slowly spools them back up with kind words and love. he hides his worry, not well enough for seokjin to miss it, but he hides it because one of them needs to firmly establish their commitment. he sweeps hair from seokjin’s face and nods, affirms the feelings but disavows the premise.
namjoon wraps of seokjin’s worries up and softly proposes putting them away. seokjin still has feelings of inadequacy lurking in his chest. he doesn’t have pay attention to them at this very moment as namjoon softly presses his lips to seokjin’s forehead and murmurs an “i love you”.
