Hi i love your blog and your take on things that has perfect amount of logic and delulu.
I want to ask your take on this HARU and Hoso(?) Character being removed from Chakho: 7fates webton. I haven't read that. But have seen fans(jimin fans more like) being upset about it being replaced and it's storyline given to another member.
It sounded sad to me. But i don't know if it was just a bad decision or downright disservice to a character that Jimin felt attachment to (i saw clips where he talked about Haru).
What's your take?
Anon 2: how long till the fandom accuses jkkers of not being army or hating tae for not being okay with jimin's character being erased and taekook's characters having jikook's characters storyline/bond...
Anon 3: https://x.com/dearkoomi5813/status/1908073057165701148 . Have you seen this ? Why have they done this ? It’s disgraceful.
Anon (s), thank you for stopping by. Perfect amount of logic and delulu oooouuhhh😮💨😘🤌🏼
For anyone who’s not aware of what’s going on, these anons are referring to a recent release of an anime short about 7FATES: CHAKHO, BTS’ webtoon that made us cry on the floor ripping our hearts out. You can read it here if you haven’t (please, do😟).
And stream Stay Alive (prod. SUGA) while you’re at it.
Anyways. The anime short was released by CloverWorks, a Japanese animation studio. You can watch it here if you’re curious or want to check it.
It’s not a full series, a premiere, a teaser. This is it. A short film.
And Jimin’s character, Haru, is not included. He was either erased or replaced with the girl you can see in it that helps Jungkook’s character, Zeha. Like Haru does in the og webtoon (which is better, more detailed, less condensed, OT7, with a completely different vibe).
The reasons why they did this are unknown to me, and honestly it wasn’t a smart move considering how important and special Jimin’s character is. They had a great chance to do a great thing and they lost it. Haru is an important emotional figure, he’s a god like character. So so so cool and meaningful. I get goosebumps all over my body when I think of the story and of his role too.
The limited time is not a justification, considering they added a new character (the girl I mentioned before) that takes up time just like Haru could’ve. So maybe it could’ve been some sort of marketing move trying to reach a wider audience by introducing a female character, which still sounds weird.
And even if they chose to erase Jimin’s character to focus on Zeha (don’t know why, because Jungkook is considered worldwide popular?), they still messed up. Hybe and CloverWorks should’ve prioritized Haru’s presence in their talks.
In the webtoon Zeha and Haru have deep connections and scenes filled with emotional depth, subtle affection. So I’m assuming that CloverWorks wanted to portray such thing, but between Zeha - Jungkook’s character - and a girl instead. For whatever reason.
They definitely took too many liberties and fucked the adaptation up which could’ve led to something better and more satisfying. For the sake of the story itself above all, and also to respect Jimin and his representative in the webtoon.
This wasn’t the only change, though. So it makes me think they just thought of getting inspired by an highly appreciated BTS content to create something creatively different and that could become a thing of its own later in the future. If so, keeping the 7FATES:CHAKHO name and title was a bad bad bad move, though. Nah it’s a big mistake lol.
It’s weird. I don’t personally like it because I’m deeply attached to this BTS project. I loved it, I felt it. It’s special. And this was not the move I needed or expected regarding it.
Am catching up with the latest chapters of CHAKHO and like…
We now got this Kaijuu, Godzilla looking motherfucker.
*scratches head*
Did I like... missed the memo or something? I thought they were killing those demonic tigers (Beom).
Now we got huge mfers able to destroy an entire city named "snowflake". Why does that sounds like every pet owner's villain origin story?
Overall, the story's kinda boring now. Zeha no longer wants to kill Hupo, they've all joined forces for the "common good". And apparently it all boiled down to a misunderstanding (classic AO3 & Wattpad drama). The rest of the members still act semi-dumb infront of dangerous situations instead of just KICKING ASS.
And I agree with some readers who have complained in the past chapters on how disappointed they feel in how the webtoon depicts Haru as this lesser character that basically BABYSITS EVERYONE. And not some thousand year old god with infinite knowledge and power. (but then again... it is Hybe behind this so I'm not surprised that even in a fictional world JM's character gets downplayed >_> )
Thank God I haven't wasted money to unlock future chapters like other people have.
Too bad CHAKHO's so slow....like who gives af about all these villains popping out of fucking Narnia? Just choose ONE and lets kill these mofos.
And what's up with not giving Haru a good role like it was originally promised??? He's supposed to be one of THE most strongest characters (hello?? an ancient DEITY???) and they really have him watching kdramas & being a MOM to the other 6...
