Hi! I know it’s been literally a decade and forgive me if it’s been asked before - probably has - but what were your plans for the remainder of BTSDLB? if it’s okay to ask.

Since it was driven by reader suggestions, I didn't have any firm plans, just ideas. This post has a list of all the biggest ideas I was considering.

If you scroll back far enough in my #btsdlb tag I answer a lot of asks about other headcanons & ideas I had.

Oh, bless archive.org. Whoever mirrored btsdlb over to the fanadventure website left out several panels—I've still got the images buried on my computer somewhere, but not the text—so they'd just be gone if not for archive.org

so i was in the homestuck fandom around 2012, as you did, and i read be the sea dweller lowblood back then. then i slowly drifted out of the fandom, went from looking back on my time there ‘proudly’ to ‘embarrassedly’ to, about a month ago, ‘nostalgically.’ subsequently went on my first homestuck kick in a decade, which obviously entailed rereading every old fic i could remember the title of, including btsdlb once i found a working backup. reread it, fail to consciously register author name (1/)

few weeks later, find myself on my first godzilla kick of my life for youtube animation-related reasons. went ao3 archive diving, find fics with a pairing i can’t say i’d thought of but are written pretty well. enjoying self, check author’s linked tumblr. no longer talking about lizards, alas, but answering asks. scroll down - hey, another ex(?)homestuck. someone’s written in about a thing they wrote. btsdlb? … wait does that stand for- (2/3)

so uh. hi. wasn’t expecting to run into the same author in two wildly different fandoms a decade apart in the space of a month. enjoyed both the homestuck thing and the ghidorah/rodan things, really enjoying your touch for worldbuilding. plus your writing’s just a lot of fun! (3/3)

Always fun to see someone stumble on my stuff through more than one fandom! Hi hello, at the moment we're talking about triangles instead of lizards around here, but I'm sure it'll circle back around to lizards eventually—I'm a big fan of lizards and that series is still on my "continue once my writing energy comes back from the war" to-do list!! :)

anon from earlier! also the og fic is missing a lot of images now and I'm a lil sad about it hahah

I also didn't upload that archive of the original fanadventure. I don't know who ran it and don't have any idea what the login info for their account is. I don't have the power to replace those broken images and never have.

The best I could potentially do now is create a new mirror with the replaced images, but that's a lot of work—there were over a thousand pages—and I haven't felt like doing it before now and I don't know when/if I will feel like doing it.

I went in to reread BTSDLB again for the first time in a couple of years, saw you were redoing it, got excited and read through only to realise the last update was in 2018... I'm not sure if I'm sad I'm so late or glad I didn't discover it sooner so I'd be constantly thinking about what happened to it :')) anywho I wanted to thank you for the endless amount of fun the fic has given me through the years, couldn't find like an 'official' disc post for either but figure it's been ten years

Nah, I wasn't redoing it. A stranger came into my inbox (im pretty sure on anon) and said "would you mind if a fan redrew it" and I said "Sure, go ahead if you want." I never heard from them again and don't know who ran it.
