Ryder was happy to have the work day more or less over since he didn’t consider walking around the studio with Penny to be much of work. He was looking forward to showing her around and getting to know a bit more about her. The first day on set can be overwhelming and he wanted to make sure she knew she could find a friend in him. After the meeting with his department, he went straight to craft services hoping to find his new colleague. He instantly spotted her standing to the side - her red hair was a give away. If she had been on set before, he would’ve noticed. “I’m going to guess you’re the new chef Penny,” he smiled at her. “Ryder, your tour guide here and ready.”

I’ll Protect You || Sam & Penny

SAM

Sam had been thinking about the night all day, stirring over what movie to pick to bring along for the little movie night he and Penny were having. He had been torn between something genuinely in the horror category, or playing it safe and working his way up to something else a little later on. In the end, the less scary option weighed out; if she wasnt completely traumatised then maybe she'd be interested in doing it again, and Sam liked that idea way more than scaring her to bits tonight. So he settled for the classic, Alien. It was technically still within the horror category, but it wasn't that bad. He knew Penny liked space type things, they'd already had discussions that involved Star Wars, and who wasn't a fan of Sigourney Weaver? The woman was a badass. If she was still scared, then Sam would just have to do his best to protect her, something he really didn't have a problem doing.

Sam thought she was incredibly cute, tucking her head into his shoulder to hide from the screen midway through the film. This was still too much, he noted mentally as his focus left the television screen and instead landed on the redhead beside him. Even his arm wrapped around her seemingly did nothing to ease her fear. Part of the blonde was slightly disappointed in not being able to help in that sense, but a bigger part of him revelled in having a cute girl so close; there was no denying that he was fond of her, though he was still nervous about making a wrong move and scaring her away. "We can turn it off if you want to," he offered even if the idea of losing their close proximity kind of sucked.

Hiking To The Stars || Sam & Penny

TAGGING: Sam Evans & Penny Owen. WHEN: 1st of July. WHERE: Griffith Park trails.  GENERAL NOTES: Sam shows Penny one of his favorite hiking spots, then later they look at the stars. WARNINGS: None.

Sam held the straps of his backpack high on his shoulders as he waited for Penny to rock up, doing his best to appear casual as he watched each person that passed. To say that he was nervous was an understatement, although not entirely strange since he hadn’t hung out before. But he was also looking forward to hanging out with the girl. She seemed really nice from the conversations that they’d had so far, and he was looking forward to getting to know her that little bit better. By the sounds of it they had a lot in common, and the conversation had flowed easily, he was hoping today would be the same. It didn’t hurt that he also thought she was super cute. 

Plus he was getting in exercise, so it was like a win win. In fact he had skipped his usual daily workout in favor of it. Mostly because he had been running around all morning like a madman to make sandwiches and things that would be nice to have once the pair reached the lookout. They would be hungry by then, so it was totally a genius thing to do. At least, that’s what Sam hoped. When he finally spotted her approaching, he sent her a smile, pushing himself off of the tree he had been leaning on. “Hey!”

Go Out With Me? || Sam & Penny

TAGGING: Sam Evans & Penny Owen. WHEN: 1st of August. WHERE: Galaxy’s Edge.  GENERAL NOTES: While spending the day together Sam finally works up the courage to ask Penny on a date.  WARNINGS: None. 

Much like he had expected, the day had been really good so far. Not that Sam had really expected anything less, he had a feeling it was more the company that he had rather than the place itself. Of course, who didn’t love immersing themselves in the world of theirs dreams? It was something Sam had always wished possible, but he had also done before. It was still fun, of course, Sam was having a blast, but he also figured he could be anywhere and still have an amazing time, so long as he was with Penny. Nothing beat watching the way she lit up as they walked around, or when he bought her blue milk like she had mentioned wanting. 

Taking it easy at the party the night before had been a smart idea as he held the redhead on his back as they maneuvered through the crowd of people- not that she was heavy or anything, in fact it was quite the opposite and the blonde loved the contact- just that he was glad to have the excess energy that he usually lacked after a work do. Hangovers could be a bitch. When Sam felt his stomach growl, he halted his movements as he did his best to make eye contact with her. “I’m feeling kinda hungry. Wanna grab a bite?”
