Better Than the Bayou... Almost | Remy + Rogue
The night was shrouded in a mist, but Remy's red pupils pierced through the white wisps that infiltrated the space between he and Rogue. Other than the light fog, the evening seemed perfect. The Long Island sound glinted with dancing specks of moonlight, dazzling nobody but the clusters of tourists who wandered along the peer with cameras that wouldn't take any good pictures until the sun returned. Staring into the water long enough could bring Remy back to a time where he was still in the heart of Cajun Town, walking the streets of New Orleans.
But tonight was not a night for daydreaming. His focus was Rogue, the woman he cared deeply about so fully it felt like a natural function of his body. It was like seeing the ending to a book from the first page, simply understanding the true meanings while still taking in all the gracious details. It was not love, a rather selfish emotion in Remy's book, it was something else. He couldn't name it, and he didn't need to. Because he felt it for her and knew it completely.
"Pizza for dinnah, Cher? It ain't classy or nothin' but it sha is good." Remy smiled, tilting his head as he looked at her. He took in her thick curls, the white shock of hair near her widow's peak appearing so normal. Subconsciously he believed all people were supposed to have it, a white streak, but somehow-- miraculously maybe-- Rogue had been the only one to represent a person's true appearance. She was the only one in a lot of aspects, to Remy.
