BTU Challenges (Part Forty-One)
BTU Challenges (Part Forty)
Me: (knee-deep in several different POVs for Ch. 36) Literally what the fuck is even happening anymore?
BTU Challenges (Part Thirty-Nine)
Writing BTU is so bad for my knees. Like, so bad.
When I’m writing, I forget about everything else that isn’t me writing this story, so when I get up to stretch or go to the bathroom, suddenly, my knees are screaming at me:
“YOU BITCH!!! WE TOLD YOU AN HOUR AGO WE WERE IN PAIN BUT YOU FUCKING IGNORED US THE WHOLE TIME!! GOOD LUCK WITH THE SORENESS; IF WE HAVE TO SUFFER SO DO YOU!!!”
BTU Challenges (Part Thirty-Seven)
Can't post anymore snippets; from here on out, we're in endgame, which means everything is a spoiler. ._.;
BTU Challenges (Part Thirty-Six)
It's gotten to the point where I switch between so many POVs that I forget which one I'm supposed to be writing in on more than one occasion.
BTU Challenges (Part Thirty-Five)
Writing vows that aren't your own are a bitch.
BTU Challenges (Part Thirty-Four)
Honestly, my biggest problem with monster chapters is that I know, when throwing so much information at you all at once, things are gonna slip past your notice, or you’ll take note of it, but instantly forget it when the next big WHAM moment occurs.
And that makes me sad in a selfish way, because comments tend to react to the BIGGEST thing in a chapter. Which is, you know, fine, except for the times where I REALLY wanna see reactions to a smaller moment in the chapter, only for people to either barely take note of it, or not mention it at all.
BTU Challenges (Part Thirty-Three)
The minute I mentioned BTU ending, I had way more people than I expected asking about a sequel. .....What....? Guys? At present, the document for BTU is nearing 400k words. As many have pointed out, that's either about as much or MORE than the last two books in the Harry Potter series. BTU is literally the size of about two or three novels. I've been writing BTU for almost a year now. Seriously, the AO3 anniversary is next month. Though it swelled WAY past what I had anticipated, I have told the story I wanted to tell. The fact that some of you expect more is honestly disheartening. Like, the thought of a sequel to this monster of a fic EXHAUSTS me. And I don't understand how you can expect there to be more to this story? I don't understand how you can possibly believe that there could be MORE to a 400k fic? I REALLY don't understand how you all expect me to give another year of my life to an all-consuming work I wrote for FREE, when many of you know I want to actually be a novelist? That I want to make this my career, but I cannot possibly do that with ANOTHER huge fic in my lap? I don't get it: haven't I written enough for you to be satisfied at this point? BTU isn't finished yet, but I PROMISE all the answers to your questions will be resolved before it ends. A sequel is unnecessary. All good things must come to an end...and BTU WILL END. If I can let it go, I certainly trust that you'll all live.
