Sometimes I just want a Spike & Dawn found family fic, where Buffy was never resurrected and they navigate daily lives together in an apocalypse/post-apocalypse world. Road tripping as best as they can to survive. Protecting her again and again because he had promised the girl. Til the end of the world even if it's today. Cry when they miss her. Smile when they find a little bit of happiness. Just like that.
And then Spike got to keep his promise.
