Here I Stand * So here I stand One foot close to the edge The other digging in My hands clenched in fists My breath in rapid bursts I look straight ahead Through the pouring rain and sleet My vision poor but focused  My mouth opens and shuts But a whisper is all that comes  In the distance lightning flashes  Followed soon by thunder For a moment u appear  A silhouette deformed of shape And just as easily vanishes I feel my heart pounding in my head  Remember the words u had said The scream contained in my lungs  The cold chill in my heart The weakness in my legs Where is the sun I longed for  The warmth u promised me  Warm winds to brush my hair And blow away my fears Why do I stand here all alone Once again the lightning crashes  But you are not there the thunder hides my scream  the rain drowns my cry You left me here alone to die    * December  07  2010 . . .
