21 Reasons Why It’s #GreatToBU
1. Our location in the city of Boston allows plenty of opportunities to explore the city and discover new things to do (museums, cultural events, eating in the North End, skating in Boston Common, shopping on Newbury Street, going to a Red Sox Game…)
2. The T helps students commute cheaply and efficiently
3. BU guarantees housing for four years, options ranging from East to West Campus
4. 10 smaller colleges help a big school feel smaller, allowing students to connect with peers and professors
5. We have one of the top-ranked dining halls in the country (Lobster Night, West Campus Burger, Visiting Chef’s Nights…)
6. We have over 100 study abroad programs in 25 countries that allow students from many different majors to study and to intern abroad without disrupting their course load
7.There are tons of ways to get involved on campus: clubs, a cappella groups, intramurals, arts productions, and Greek life
8. The George Sherman Union (GSU) is a hub of student life on campus—it’s always packed because of its central location where students spend time between classes
9. The GSU has tons of different food options: Starbucks, Pinkberry, Loose Leafs, Charles River Bread Co., just to name a few, and you can pay for all of it with dining points!
10. We have our own beach, which is perfect for lounging on sunny fall and spring days
11. As one of the most sustainable campuses, BU constantly tries to decrease the size of our carbon footprint by increasing sustainability initiatives throughout campus
12. There are tons of research opportunities including Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) and Independent Research opportunities
13. FitRec has a rock wall, a lazy river, and 4 levels - all free for students
14. There are tons of resources available to students in the Career Development Center, where students can get professional career help (resume building, internship opportunities, etc)
15. BU is very diverse—students hail from all fifty states and nearly every country in the world.
16. Academically rigorous, BU allows students dual-degree, which gives them a chance to earn two degrees in four years.
17. BU is the hub of many opportunities. Many students intern or work in the city of Boston during their time at BU
18. BU Men’s Ice Hockey Team is one of the best in the country. Home games at Agganis Arena are a great way for students to share their Terrier pride.
19. BU has a student-to-faculty ratio of 12:1 and an average class size of 27
20. Whether it be a Nobel Peace Prize winner, an author, or a former Terrier, BU professors come from diverse backgrounds and experiences
21. Not only will you be taught by amazing professors and get to explore the city of Boston, you’ll meet a ton of amazing people and be proud to call BU your home. Terriers are always #proudtoBU
